Blurb

I wish I could say that I remember what life was like before I woke up in the kingdom of Astra, but it’s gone. My memories, my life, my assumed family. Just- gone. Like they never even existed. Even my name. I blurted out the only name that popped in my head when I was first asked by one of the locals. So now I answer to Asha. In a land and life completely unfamiliar to her, Asha is doing her best to find her way towards… well… something. She has no idea what this pull is, driving her towards an unknown destination. Or destiny? Dax is not known to stay in one place for long. On the run from his own destiny, he is only ever certain of one thing. He can never go back to Astra. Until that dream. The dream that haunts him even in his waking hours. He can’t seem to resist the pull to her. Now he must find her before they find him.

Asha
It’s been two weeks since I woke up on the shores of Astra. With nothing but a headache and crippling anxiety. Why could I remember nothing? Who am I? Where did I come from? If it weren’t for the kindness of Loris Bane, the local butchers wife, I would probably be dead by now. She’s the one who found me and brought me back to her home. She’s been feeding me like I’m a stray cat ever since. “Asha!” She calls. “Is that you I hear wandering in the garden?” “Yes, Ms Loris. I just finished watering the tomatoes.” “Thank you, dear. I’m sure you will be off exploring again today. Do be careful. I can feel a storm about to break. Unusual this time of year these storms.” “Yes, Ms Loris. Thank you. I’ll be sure to stick closer today.” Since my arrival, it’s rained nearly every day. The storms have been getting heavier with each arrival. Storm or not, I must continue my exploration of the city. I can’t seem to find any relief from the gut wrenching pull I have in my body. It’s like someone attached a string to my stomach and keeps tugging on it. Yesterday I swear I felt a reprieve when I made my way beyond the little village near the shore and the surrounding fields. By the time I reached the forest the rain started coming down so hard I could barely see two feet in front of me. Turning around was near excruciating. The relief I had felt as I got closer to the tree line vanished immediately. Today I’m going back to the woods. Storm or not I have to go further. There’s something waiting in those woods. Maybe i’ll find some answers. There just HAS to be something there for me.
