They arrived back at the cabin – the weather was still beautiful, so they opened the large doors leading to the patio and ate a meal outside. It was warm and calm, but it also meant the cabin was able to air, helping to dissipate the smell of the bleach and cleaning agents.
Lily was preening herself, lying beside them in the sun.
“Aren’t you scared she’ll run away?”
“She’s a princess. She has lived a very pampered life, and she will not take a step into that forest if it means getting her fur dirty.”
