Elizabeth pulled him down on the bed and they lay beside each other. He stroked her hair and she buried her face into his neck, finding the familiar scent of sandalwood and citrus comforting. When they lay like this it felt like nothing in the world could tear them apart – they were invincible because they had each other. Elizabeth had struggled with chronic depression for as long as she could remember.
