Rory

527 Words
After breakfast I took a bath. I didn't really eat much. I don't usually have a lot of food and I am small so my body only takes a certain amount of substances. Stephan tried to get me to eat more, but I was already past my limit. I grabbed the rest of my bread and wrapped it in a cloth to save for later. The water was clear. I didn't contaminate the water this time. I cupped the water and let it fall right in front of me. I watched as the water jumped and then become united with the water where it came from. Once the water settle I could see right through it to my tiny legs. I traced the outline of my bones that popped out. I followed them to my hips, then my ribs, my collarbone, my arms, and to the tip of my finger. I was too skinny. I began to imagine what I would look like if I had a better life. Or simply, food everyday. How my body will be full instead of being stuck to my bones. How I could pinch my skin and not touch my bones. How I would be soft and squishy and not bony. We'll get there. "Where are you?" I said above a whisper. Afraid that Stephan would hear me and think me crazy and afraid that if I spoke too loud the voice would go away. I am with you and I am not. "What does that mean?" We are one. You and I. However, I am trapped and cannot be with you entirely. "How can I get you free?" You need to- Knock knock. "Hey, you okay in there?" Stephan asked behind the door. "Yes, I'm okay. I'm getting out now." I said in a regular volume and then above a whisper I asked, "You there?" Rory. "Rory? What is that? Your name?" I asked. No response. "Hello?" No response. I got out of the tub and let the water disappear. I wrapped myself in a towel and walked towards the door. Beside the door that connected the bathroom to the bedroom was a small table. Stephan had given me some clean clothes to wear. They were the same to the ones I wore before. An outfit that fit me too big. I did my best to adjust the clothes and walked out of the bathroom. "Hello." Stephan waved at me. "Hello." I waved back. "Soooo, there is a couple of things I need to do today and I want you to come with me."  "Ummm.. is it safe?" "Completely. I will protect you." "How dangerous is it?" "Oh no, I don't mean it for you to think it was dangerous. Well, it is, but you'd be okay as long as you stay with me." Thinking about it I could stay here in the room, but what if a guard comes barging in? Would it be safer with him roaming the castle? Regardless, I am in danger anyways. "You promise it will be okay?" "Yeah, I got you." "Okay then." "Awesome. Perfect." Stephan said with the biggest smile. "So whatever happens you follow me, okay?" I nodded my head and followed him. He handed me the tray that had our breakfast on it and then we headed out the room.
