Chapter 8: A Little Makeover

1048 Words
Akira's POV Kael is going insane, his demands are getting out of hand. Is it a must that I attend the party with him? He can go alone, or he should find another girl to go with him. I am not pretty and I am very inexperienced when it comes to parties. I guess he just wants a person he can control; someone who he can order around. It was almost time for the party already, I had nothing good to wear. I found myself a plain knee length yellow dress to wear. The dress hung freely on my body. I knew I would be the least dressed at the party, but that didn't bother me, so I marched to Kael's house. Kael opened up the door for me at the second knock, he must have been expecting me. His eyes scan through my dressing and he looked a little disappointed. But he was dressed nicely though, he wore a plain white T-shirt and a matching denim jacket and trousers, his hair was done in a new style which highlighted his perfectly structured face. I looked like a rag beside him. “Damn Milky, come with me,” he took my hands, slammed the door and pulled me up the stairs, taking me to his room. I My eyes widened as I walked into his room, his room was big enough to accommodate four people. The decorations were splendid and the pieces of street art portraits that hung on the walls fitted the room perfectly. I already knew Kael had a thing for the color blue, but now that I got to see the color of his bedsheets, curtains and walls, I might have underestimated his love for the color. I have been to his house countless times, but I have never been to his room. “Don't just stand there,” he muttered, “ Thank gracious I got this prepared,” he took the pink carton bag that was sitting on his sofa. “Change into this,” he handed me the bag. He got me new clothes? “Kael…” “Do it now!” Am I supposed to change at his front? He saw the confusion written on my face. “Go and change in the bathroom Milky,” he gave me a way out. Yeah… The bathroom! I didn't know what I was thinking… I went into his bathroom. I thought it was just his room that was huge, but his bathroom was also huge. He had his own private bathtub and a mini closet in the bathroom. Kael was living like royalty. I changed into the dress hastily, so I won't get him angry by wasting his time. I stood before the mirror in his bathroom, analyzing myself properly. The dress didn't look like something that belongs to me. It was an armless blue dress that is fitted at the above, but flared from the waist down to the knee. I turned around, making sure I was seeing things correctly. How did a dress make me look beautiful? “Milky,” Kael called. I knew he would get impatient. “Coming,” I muttered, taking a deep breath, feeling nervous that I'd have to present myself to Kael. I slowly twisted the door knob, getting out of the bathroom, Kael sat upright as his eyes fell on me. Something flowed strangely in his eyes- something I could not fathom. He smirked in a pleasant manner. I was nervous as hell, waiting for him to say something to me. Was I waiting for him to compliment me? My bully would never say something nice to me. “Now it remains the final touch,” he said. “The final touch?” I asked. “Yeah, I would never let you accompany me with that messy hair and ugly glasses.” His words were harsh, it made me want to sit and drown in sadness. I should never expect good things to come out of Kael's mouth. It's not my fault that I have to wear glasses to see properly, or to have hair that finds it hard to stay in place. He pointed his hand to the chair and I obliged him. He took off my glasses, and the hair tie that had my hair in place. “What are you doing Kael?” “Just shut up and let me do my thing.” His things? Dressing up a girl is his thing? He applied something on his hand and rubbed it in my hair. I couldn't see it properly because I wasn't wearing my glasses. He gently brushed my hair in sections and put it into place. “Are we late?” I asked. “I am trying to make you beautiful,” he continued. I didn't ask him to make me beautiful? It seemed like he had finished with my hair and he was now working on my face. “I don't want to wear makeup, Kael,” I told him. “Okay fine, just lip balm,” he agreed with me. I never thought he would, but he applied lip balm. How does a guy know how to dress up a lady and how does he know how to fix hair and apply makeup? Kael is a very weird person. I took my glasses and I wanted to put them on back. “No… No,” he took them from me? “I can't see without them.” “They make you ugly, all my work will go down the drain.” “At least I should get to see how I look.” I really wanted to see how I look. Maybe Kael did a bad job or a good job. He put on my glasses for me, and I could finally see myself clearly, unlike the blurred vision earlier. I looked pretty- very pretty. My hair was straight and shiny. Kael did an amazing job. He removed the glasses back and he put them in his pocket. Well… he just wanted me to see what I looked like. “Thanks Kael,” I said excitedly. “Now let's go,” he held my hand and we walked out of the room. He held my hand? He didn't pull me?
