The Ancient Luna

Eden's POV I wake to the pounding on my door, I know who it is before they even speak "Eden you stupid b***h you didn't iron my dress for Jackson's party" Cindy the betas neice yells through my door. Ugh, I get out of bed and head to my bucket of water to wash my face and brush my teeth. I don't get to use the bathrooms in the packhouse until everyone is asleep. I'm the slave of the pack the orphan no one wanted, I was found when I was two at the edge of the Red Rock pack and was well taken care of for the first part of my life but when my 14h birthday passed and I didn't shift them things changed. I'm brought out of my memories when Cindy starts yelling again. "You useless girl I told you I wanted it done by today." She didn't tell me that but I'm not allowed to talk back so I finish getting ready and open my door "I'm sorry Cindy I'll do it right now" she stomps off grumbling under her breath about how much of a waste of space I am, she thinks I can't hear her because I don't have a wolf but what they don't know is that I do have a wolf her name in luna and she is my best friend but she says we can't shift because there is something blocking her but she does talk to me alot. I head towards Cindy's room so I can finish her dress. When I get there, the door opens, and I'm face to face with none other the Jackson King future Alpha of the red rock pack. " What are you doing to standing out here?" he asked me. " sorry alpha I was coming to iron Cindy's dress" I honestly don't know why I need to Jackson's party isn't till tomorrow, he will be turning 20 tomorrow and will then be able to find his mate and Cindy is convinced she is his so she already tries to boss everyone around. "When your done go to the kitchen and make sure the omegas have everything they need for my party then I want the packhouse spotless before the party starts" I manage to suppress my eye roll "yes aphla" I look at the floor " so stupid we have to act like this for this pup I'm an ancient wolf spirit he should submit to us" luna grumbles in my head and I hold in my laugh at her sassy attitude. She hates the fact that we have to submit to the others, including those weaker than me, but until we can figure out how to shift, nothing will change. It irritates me too because while I am the lowest wolf here everyone has to train and I have defeated most of the warriors including the top female and male warriors I'm still at the bottom so this is how it is. When Jackson finally walks away, i head into cindys room to find her laying naked on the bed. " guess we know what they were doing," luna mumbled while gagging, and i snicker in my head. cindy gets off the bed and puts her robe on thank God. SMACK i hear it before i feel it, she slapped me "don't ever talk to my boyfriend again b***h or I'll tear you to pieces" she grabs her clothes and walks out the door probably going to Jackson's room to shower. "I wish we could put them in their place," I say to Luna. She growls in answer. I finish ironing Cindy's dress and getting stock of the kitchen supplies and am halfway done cleaning to the top floor of the packhouse when I get summoned by Alpha David. "Eden, come to my office right away." "yes alpha" he sounds mad. Have i done something wrong? i havent cleaned his office yet so i know its not cause something is missing.I walk slowly to his office hoping I'm not getting in trouble when I get closer to his door I hear Luna Marie yelling inside "it doesn't matter she doesn't have a wolf she is still pack David". I like Alpha David and Luna Marie they have always treated me well. It's everyone else who has a problem with me. "I know that, Marie, but if I don't do something, she will be killed before her 21st birthday!" I freeze right before I knock. What are they talking about? I know it involves me, but how will I be killed? "We won't know if you don't go in there." "Thanks luna very helpful." I roll my eye at her, then knock. The yelling stops immediately, and then I'm told to come in. " You wanted to see me, Alpha?" "Yes, Eden, please sit down. " I look from him to Luna Marie, and I can tell I won't like what he has to say. " Your 20th birthday is tomorrow as well, isn't it dear?" "Yes, alpha it is." I'm confused. Even Alpha and Luna have never said anything about my birthday, so why are they bringing it up now? I feel luna moving forward a little bit to listen even she is intrigued now. "Well, I'm sorry to say this dear, but if you don't find your mate in the pack tomorrow, then you will have to leave the pack within the next month."
