Chapter 12

Garrett's POV

I have been sitting here next to my mate for three days praying to the goddess that she wakes soon. I won't be able to survive if I lose her before I get a chance to love her the way she deserves. Dom has been silent in my head other than the occasional whimper and it breaks my heart more that he is suffering after we both have waited so long for her. I'm holding her hand with my head bowed, praying yet again for her to come back to me when I'm interrupted by the door opening. I don't need to look up to know it's my beta and the pathetic excuse for a future alpha. That's right do to his father finding out how he has been treating Eden and the fact that other pack members came forward about the horrible way he treats them Alpha Davi decided against making him alpha until he can prove to be to right choice otherwise others will be able to challenge for the right to be the alpha of this pack. “ Alpha, I'm sorry to disturbed you but Jackson has demanded to see you.” I'm growling before he can even finish his sentence, how dare this boy demand anything from me after the way he has treated my mate. “Alpha Garrett, I came to talk to you face to face because I believe you have made a mistake.” I look up sharply, completely ready to end this insignificant pup but before I can say anything he continues. “I know you think Eden is your mate but that's not possible considering I found out she is my mate on my birthday.” Dom is going crazy in my head , demanding the blood of the wolf in front of us. I'm growling and Marcus is just shaking his head at the gall of this boy to even suggest my mate belongs to him. I am about to set him straight when I hear the most mesmerizing voice I have ever heard. We ll turn towards the bed and gape at the women now sitting up looking at all of us. “Ex-mate you also rejected me on your birthday and i couldn't be more thankful for that fact” she is staring straight at Jackson and speaking with much more strength then someone who has been asleep for three days should be able to. She turns her head to me and my breath is knocked out of me when she smiles and her eyes sparkle. “Hello mate” at her words I am moving towards the bed and wrapping her up in a hug so tight it should hurt but she just hugs me while rubbing my back murmuring she’s okay in my ear. “I thought i would lose you, it's been the longest three days of my life please don't do it again” she laughs and goddess that sound heals my heart instantly, “I promise i will try my mate” she turns her head and kisses the side of my head making the rest of my tension evaporate instantly. We are interrupted by a growl behind me and then the snarling starts. When I turn Marcus is snarling and blocking Jackson from getting to us. Eden angles more towards them then growls so deeply it shocks me to my core “Enough” her bellow is so loud it shakes the walls and the command in it takes Marcus and Jackson to their knees when i look back at her, her eyes are so green they look like they are glowing. Dom comes forward so quickly i can't stop him from taking over.” My Luna, how I have missed you my love.” im stunned to realize he already knows our mate's wolf but he is in control so let him have his moment before I have to take back over to handle Jackson. “My dear Dom we will have time to talk and my lovely Eden will explain to your Garrett all he needs to know, but I am happy to be reunited with you my love.” Both our wolves pull back and while I'm staring at Eden with shock she just has a gentle smile on her face. “I will fill you in later when you don't have to be in alpha mode but for now it seems you have something to handle.” right when she finishes talking the door bursts open and in charge Alpha David, my warriors and three of his own warriors as well.Alpha David looks around seeing Marcus and Jackson still on their knees and Eden in my arms. “Anyone care to explain what the hell is going on in here, and please release my son Alpha Garrett.” I smirk and look at Eden, “sweetheart will you release them from your aura now please?” She smiles before looking at the men on their knees, her smile fades and sh just looks at them for a minute before pulling her aura in and letting them stand. Marcus immediately bows his head to her in respect of “Luna”. Eden smiles brightly at him and bows her head in respect as well “Beta Marcus so nice to meet you.” “you as well luna”. With the pleasantries out of the way Marcus turns and half blocks my mate from vire protectively. Alpha David is watching everything with confusion before looking at his son and growling low, “I told you to stay out of this room and to leave Alpha Garrett and his mate alone. Just because ou are my son does not mean you can ignore a direct command from your alpha boy.” “Father she is not his she is mine and i will not let them take her from me!” Marcus, Eden, and myself all let out growls to this making Jackson flinch back slightly. “I am no longer your mate Jackson and you have no say over if i stay or not and neither does your father, as i was never made an official pack member i am free to leave as i wish even so wolf law dictates that once a mate is found the lower ranking wolf will move to the other mates pack as i am technically a rouge in this pack i will be moving to my mates pack regardless of what you wish.” Eden's tone holds a minor command in it, making Jackson bare his neck in submission and Alpha David to look at her in total shock. When Jackson looks back at Eden there is so much malice in his gaze that I move closer to her and Marcus moves more in front of her before his father barks at him to leave. “Alpha Garrett, I apologize for my son and I guarantee he will be dealt with. I presume since there will be no alpha ceremony you would prefer to take Eden back to your pack as soon as possible.” Before I can answer him, Eden shifts so she is able to see him. “I apologize i never told you what was going on Alpha David. I did not wish to cause any more trouble for you or Luna Marie but I thank you for everything you have done for me.” the fact that she is apologizing for his son's wrongdoings shows how strong she is for thinking of others before herself. I look at David and answer his question. “Yes i would like to leave as soon as my Eden is released, I will be heading back to pack my belongings here shortly. Thankyou for your hospitality while we were here.” he nods in respect then leaves and i turn towards eden and smile. “Marcus and I will go pack our stuff. Is there anything you would like to take with you?” she shakes her head and looks down before answering me. “I have nothing here other than hand me downs so all i will nee is some clothes then we can leave.'' I hook my thumb under her chin and raise her face, kissing her gently and smiling when she leans into me automatically. “We will get you everything you will need when we get home sweet mate. We will be back shortly to get some rest.” i kiss her gently again before exiting the room with Marcus on my heels. “Alpha, I have informed the warriors to be ready in an hour. Is there anything you would like me to get?” “Yes, can you run to the store and get Eden some comfortable clothes to wear home plus a couple more outfits to last until we can take her shopping?” “Right away Alpha” Marcus nods and leaves immediately and I walk to my room to pack my stuff. My mate will never want for anything again as long as she has me, i will protect her from ever feeling like she is unwanted again.
