After dinner Cat cleared the table while Ryder washed dishes and Kylie put everything away. Cat pulled the brownies out of the oven and set them on a rack to cool. The smell of chocolate filled the entire apartment and made her mouth water.
When the dishes were done and the brownies were cool, Ryder cut them up and carried a small plate to the table. The three of them sat at the table talking. Kylie told Cat about her new book, Ryder told them about his day, and Cat shared all the cute things Mikey did.
“I want a little brother, Dad. Do you think I could have a little brother?” Kylie said.
