Cat’s heart lodged in her throat as tears fell down her cheeks. No one had ever said he loved her before and she didn’t know what to say. So she said exactly what felt right, “I love you, too, Ryder.”
“Good. Now that we have that settled, what about marrying me?”
“I know you’re not serious. Don’t ruin tonight with talking about marriage. You love me, that’s all I need to know now.”
“Well then I think it’s time to go to bed. Come here, my love,” Ryder said pulling Cat up off the couch with him. He seared her mouth with a kiss then turned to his bedroom. In the room Ryder closed the door and locked it behind them. They both went into the bathroom and shared the sink while brushing their teeth. Cat loved that Ryder had bought her a toothbrush. It was little things like that that helped
