Elice—friend of mine— said. "I told you, I can't. I have to prepare for tomorrow's." Tomorrow will be the day I will be applying for a job, as a secretary. "We can do it after I get accepted for the job." I smiled at her but she's just frowning while scrolling to her phone, this b***h really. "Tsk fine! Make sure na ikaw manlilibre huh?" She said and I just nodded. I went after the dinner with Elice. I took a quick bath, and did my usual night routine before drifting to sleep. I was about to turn the lamp off when I saw the picture of my parents and I, the picture I never thought will be our last picture together. I turned the lamp of before drifting to sleep. I woke up because of the sound of the alarm coming form my phone. I sat down first before checking some messages form my grandparents. I went down the stairs after I got out of my room. I cooked my breakfast,ate, and cleaned before I took a shower. That's how my day usually starts. After dressing up,I checked the brown envelope where I put all the documents that I needed. I went out the house and waited for a taxi. Elice called." Hello,beatch?" "What is it, Elice?" I asked without greeting her back. I know how much she hates it whenever she's not being greeted back, makes my day when she's annoyed. "You b***h, di ka talaga marunong mag 'Hi' or 'Good morning,Elice' parang hindi ka naggrade 2!" She said, I chuckled. "Para saan pa?and besides, I'm not obliged to greet you." I said. I can clearly imagine her now annoyed face. "I was just about to say goodluck pero che bwisit ka!" She said before ending the call. Oh Elice, I hope you find someone who can tame your childish side. 2 hours have passed pero ang haba pa rin ng pila ng mga gustong mag apply para sa trabaho. It was my turn when... "Sorry ma'am balik nalang po kayo mamayang hapon. Mag lulunch po muna kayo." Saad nung babaeng nasa harap, Yung nag assist sa mga aplikante. "But miss..." She cut me off before I can even protest. "Sorry Miss, napag utusan lang." Saad niya bago umalis sa harapan ko. Dahan dahang umalis ang mga aplikante, samot saring ang mga reklamo ang mga naririnig ko sa mga papaalis na mga tao. Habang ako?narito pa rin sa kinatatayuan ko. I sighed heavily before I pick up my bag. Lolo calling... I was walking my way to the elevator when Lolo called. "Yes paps?" "How's the job interview apo?" I heard Lola's voice from the line. I sighed before I responded. "I... haven't... I was cut off because of the time. They told us to go back this afternoon after lunch." I said. "It's okay, me and your grandpa knows you'll get that job." Even they are away I can still feel their love and support for me. "Thanks po. Sige na po, pahinga na kayo." "We are not that old, apo."Lola said. I chuckled. "You are old now, dear." I heard lolo said, I even heard his laughter. "Tsk. Anyway, take care Annie. We love you, bye-bye." She said before ending the call. I'm longing for them. I entered the elevator and waiting for it to close. I was scrolling through my phone when I heard some voice getting closer and closer. "Come on, couz. This is you 5th TIME finding yourself a secretary. Stop firing your secretary please!" I heard. "It's not my fault if they are flirting with me. Hindi ako kagaya mo Cole." "Personalan, couz? Eh kasi Naman parang 2 months palang sayo yung secretary na nirecommend ko sayo tapos fired agad?" "She tried to make a move to me? Tall, tan skinned, and well toned body even they are wearing a 3 piece suit you can already see it how masculine they are. And gwapo, like they came out of the fictional book. Binalik ko nalang Ang attention ko sa cellphone nung sumira ang pinto ng elevator. "Madison is the perfect definition of secretary. Attentive and adequate." Saad nung isang itim ang buhok. "Couz ...don't tell me you like her?!patay ka kay kuya niyan!" Gulat na gulat na tanong nung isa. "What the f**k?! Madison is my best friend and like a sister to me. Manahimik ka nga Cole." The guy with the black hair exclaimed. "Phew. Good akala ko may magaganap na world war between Brigantine and Hefner." May pahawak pa sa dibdib ito. Natawa ako kaya na agaw ko attention nila. I pretended that I was just scrolling through my social media and saw a meme. It was still quiet that's why I decided to lift my head up just to see them staring at me. "Are you listening to us miss?" The guy named Cole asked. I creased my forehead and show them my confused look. That's it Annika, pretend. Good thing I was wearing my air pods on, I removed it. "Sorry? What did you say?"I said in a confused way. "Oh nothing, I thought you were listening." The Cole said. He actually bought that reason? But when I looked at the other guy, he was staring at me coldly as if he wasn't buying it. It was so intense that I almost thank God that the elevator's door opened. I stepped out of it without hesitation. My heart was throbbing because of nervousness, he stared at me like he will eat me alive. I ate my lunch to the nearby fastfood chain. After that I went back to the B&H Corporation. Good thing maliit palang ang nandoon. I sat down to the chairs nearby. As soon as it started my name was called first. I fixed myself first before walking inside the room. The guy early was sitting in the middle while the guy named Cole was sitting beside him with his wide grin. "Mr. Brigantine, I am Annika Bue–" I was cut off by the guy in the middle. "Are you aware of the company you are acquiring?or the job you are applying for?" He asked. I was shocked by his sudden questions. "Y-yes, sir. That's why I am here for the job becau–" I was cut off—again. "Hmmm are you also aware I hate those people who are eavesdropping?" He asked that made me stiff. Me? Eavesdrop?since when? But then again, the memory of what happened awhile ago recalled to my mind. "I'm sorry, sir. But I don't know what you are talking about." I said. It's true,I didn't eavesdrop I just happened to hear their conversation because we are in the same freaking place! "Oh a liar too?"he said with a sarcastic grin plastered on his face. "With all due respect, sir. I strongly deny your accusation." I said, standing on what I believe. "Come on, Callous. Spare her." The guy beside him said. He looks the same as the guy named Cole. "Kuya's right. Spare this pretty lady, couz. And besides her working experience are good. A potential secretary for you. And she's pretty." Sir Cole said. "Don't give me the 'pretty face-card' on me Cole." He said coldly. It made my head boil. What the f**k? I tried to surpass my anger. And as I calmed my inner self,I smiled sweetly. "Sir, I'm trying to be a decent applicant applying for the job your company is offering." I said. His laugher roared in the whole room, I feel insulted. "Decent? If you don't know better. You might just like those girl, trying to impress a guy to flirt with them." He said. Is he saying that I'm...? "Are you saying I'm a w***e sir?" I said in a cold tone. I didn't mean to but he f*****g pushed me to. "Yes." I laughed humorlessly,made the two beside him stunned. "What am I? A f*****g leech? And why would I flirt with you? As far as I can remember my standard isn't that low so why would I stoop down you level?"
