Chapter 5“Is this really necessary?” Nick complained as Jamie pressed the tape to his chest, holding the wire in place. Jamie’s cool fingers on his belly were making his muscles convulse.
“This is a precaution.” Jamie didn’t look at him as he stepped behind Nick and fastened the listening device to the small of Nick’s back. “We’re not going to be able to get close while you’re in there until you’ve got Kathy out. Daniel and I want to know you can keep in radio contact in case you need backup.”
Nick rolled his eyes.
“I’m sure I’ll manage.”
Leaning against the car, Daniel made a sound that could have been holding back laughter. Jamie glared at him.
