Chapter 31“Tina, what a surprise! Come in.” Carter’s mom cheerfully greeted Tina at the front door of the Fox residence. She pulled Tina close for a tight hug. Her eccentric nature was an interesting contrast to Carter’s typically calm, focused demeanor. She wore a painter’s smock, and had varied colors of faded paint on her hands. “Carter didn’t mention you were coming over,” continued Mrs. Fox, “so I wasn’t expecting you, otherwise I would have saved you some dinner.
