Chapter 31“Tina, what a surprise! Come in.”
Carter’s mom cheerfully greeted Tina at the front door of the Fox residence. She pulled Tina close for a tight hug. Her eccentric nature was an interesting contrast to Carter’s typically calm, focused demeanor. She wore a painter’s smock, and had varied colors of faded paint on her hands.
“Carter didn’t mention you were coming over,” continued Mrs. Fox, “so I wasn’t expecting you, otherwise I would have saved you some dinner. Can I get you something to drink?”
“Oh, no thanks,” said Tina. “He’ll be surprised to see me, too.”
“Thank you again for driving him to the hospital that night and calling us. Always getting him out of trouble, it seems.”
