Chapter 29Carter and Fizzy were in the underground server room. Carter tapped his earbud.
“Mondo? You still there?”
Silence. Carter and Fizzy glanced at each other in concern. Fizzy continued typing commands at a computer terminal while Carter kept trying to reach Mondo and Tina. He gave up when he got no response.
“Should have brought jackets. Didn’t know it would be freezing in here.” Carter rubbed his arms and looked around the room. It was large and dark, with towers and rows of servers filling the space. He walked a few steps away from Fizzy and deeper into the room to marvel at its layout. The rows of blinking lights down the aisles made Carter feel like he was in a spaceship or a science fiction show.
