AMARIS POV -
I was exhausted, but I had to keep going, I couldn’t let them catch me or my baby. I’ve been going from place to place trying to put as much distance between me and them as possible, it was up to me to keep my little moon alive and I will do anything I can to keep it that way, even if I have to hide her and go with them. Hide her somewhere they’ll never find her, but where? My legs were killing me, I had run for longer than I have ever run in my life, I shifted back into a human and put on the clothes tied to my ankle and found a nice quiet place to rest for the night. After wondering for what seemed like hours, I spotted an abandoned piece of land across from a big building where I could hear a lot of children. It was an orphanage. An orphanage! That's it! I can leave my pup at an orphanage. But I need to find one on the other side of town away from where I’m staying so if they catch up, she won’t be with or near me. With that in mind, I head on my way across town, making sure to buy supplies to leave a message for her when she’s older, so she knows that I didn’t want to leave her and that I will find a way back to her, even if I spend the rest of my life doing so.

I found the perfect orphanage the next day, across on the other side of the city. I placed my baby girl wrapped up nicely in a basket on the front steps of the orphanage one night. Saying my last goodbyes I rang the doorbell and ran into the descending night, watching from afar. I saw a young girl open the door, noticing my girl in front of her, picking her up. She looked around hoping to catch a glimpse of whoever left the child on the orphanage’s front steps. Cuddling her to her chest, she gave the street one last glance over and took my baby girl inside.
I stayed in the city for the next few days, contacting Julian and informing him where he must go to protect and watch over my girl, but eventually, I had to head on my way, so no one would realize that I left my child behind. Over the past days, I’d gathered enough supplies and materials to make a bundle that would look like I held a child so if anyone found me while I was running, they would think that she was still with me.

After two weeks of running without my little girl, they finally caught up to me. Hearing them all around me I picked up the bundle and ran for my life, trying my best to outmaneuver them and escape. But I knew I wasn’t getting out of it this time, at least she was safe. As they pounced and trapped me, the last thing that flashed through my mind was her, and I whispered, “I’m sorry my little Mona, this isn’t how I wanted things to go, but I will find you.”
