My eyes opened and I felt a light pressure on my right shoulder.
I was probably asleep I thought to myself rubbing my eyes.
I sat up with a jerk and looked down at my shoulder.
My assistant was still sleeping peacefully on my shoulder with her arms wrapped around my arm.
I wiped my face and held the pose for a few seconds.
She booked the wrong class, but did that surprise me?
Not really. I knew she was going to miss something.
I slowly turned in her direction and grabbed her neck.
Her head fell back on her neck and her hands loosened from my arm.
I carefully leaned her back against the window and watched her face, which was covered by her parted hair.
After that I got up and went to the toilets.
I washed my face with cold water and somewhat restored my hair.
After freshening up, I exited the restroom and sat back in my seat.
The pilot made an announcement for all passengers to fasten their seat belts. The plane was about to land.
I buckled up again and a stewardess walked through the plane and stopped in front of me.
She came to me to collect the headphones again.
I handed her my headphones and grabbed Miss Smith's.
I gave this to her because my assistant was still fast asleep.
I turned to her and considered waking her up.
We were about to land and she had to buckle up too.
"Miss Smith?" I called, bending slightly over her face.
She made soft noises that sounded like snoring and her pouty lips were slightly open.
"Mis Smith?"
Again there was no reaction from her. I had already tried to wake her up when we were locked up at the company.
Even then calling for her hadn't done any good. She was sound asleep.
I reached out and ran my fingers over her face like I used to do back at the company.
At that time I had managed to wake her up.
She winced slightly and turned her face to the other side. Meanwhile, she mumbled something half asleep.
I reached out again and stroked her cheek.
Until she suddenly widened her eyes and gave a start.
Reflexively, I pulled my hand back and backed away from her.
She banged her head against the covering of the window with the hasty startle.
"Ouch" she mumbled and grabbed her head.
She turned her head in my direction and looked away just as quickly.
I watched her try to fix her hair.
"Excuse me, can you buckle up, please, miss?" We'll do the landing" my assistant was asked by a stewardess.
She nodded and thanked him with a smile.
With a hasty movement, she grabbed the strap and tried to pull it out.
It must have been stuck because she struggled with the belt but couldn't get it out.
"Do you need help, Miss Smith?"
I already knew that she would not accept my help.
"No thanks Mr Adams. I can do this on my own," she said, giving me a fake smile that only underscored her annoyance.
She had bent the other way and was still trying to pull out the strap.
Her hair, which had partially come loose from the braid, covered her face and she kept tucking it behind her ears.
I watched her with excitement.
"Done" she murmured and pulled out the belt with full force.
She bumped her elbow against the backrest separating our seats.
She hissed in pain and pulled her arm against her.
She cursed under her breath and pouted.
I leaned back in my seat and watched her.
It was a spectacle to watch this woman making life difficult for no reason.
I took my key from reception and took the elevator upstairs.
I looked for my suite number.
415.
I was making my way to the door when I spotted my clumsy assistant from afar.
She stood a door next to Suite 415 and opened the door.
Her suite was right next to mine.
Well, that could be something.
Before I could arrive, she had already disappeared behind the door with her large suitcase.
The very first thing I did upon checking into my suite was remove my shirt.
It was already sweaty because it was around 30 degrees outside.
A look at my watch told me that I still had a good 3 hours until the meeting tonight.
A round of sleep wouldn't be bad now.
The tiredness from last night came over me and in a few minutes I was asleep.
My alarm clock rang and woke me up from my sleep.
We had 7 p.m.
I felt fit again after the 3 hours of sleep and took a shower.
After the shower I put on black trousers and a white shirt over them.
I styled my hair and tucked my shirt in my pants.
Miss Smith wanted to draw up a file for me about today's meeting.
I put my watch around my wrist and left my room.
After locking the room, I knocked on Miss Smith's door.
I crossed my hands in front of my chest and waited patiently.
There was no answer.
I knocked again. Tighter this time.
Couldn't she open that damn door?
She should have given me the file this morning.
I was getting impatient.
I knocked impatiently on the door again, waiting for a response from her.
Was she already gone?
"What's Liam again?!" hissed my assistant as she yanked open the door, eyes narrowed.
"Miss Smith-"
I stopped in mid-speech when my gaze fell on my assistant's body, covered only by a towel.
Oh s**t.
Her eyes widened when she saw me instead of that Liam and her cheeks turned a deep red.
I didn't know where to put my eyes.
Damn, look away Adams.
I swallowed and tried to look somewhere else.
I fixed my gaze on her long light brown hair, which she wore loose.
"M-Mr. Adams..." she began to stutter, her face flushed, and at that moment the towel suddenly fell from her trembling hands.
This time I was the one who was wide-eyed and no longer in control of the situation.
I swallowed hard and my gaze fell on her slightly tanned body, which was no longer covered by a towel but was somewhat covered with her long hair.
The upper body at least.
And she had a belly button piercing.
This woman had the talent to put me in awkward situations.
She looked much more delicate in her work clothes than she actually was.
Look away Adams.
Damn where?
Anywhere but not on her body!
