Chapter SixThe children came back home for their luncheon. After they had had what was really only a meagre meal, they were both going back to their teachers for another lesson. David was still talking about horses. Minerva knew that if the Earl stayed on for long, it would be very difficult to keep him out of the stables. Usually the children were very obedient. But the excitement of what was going on at The Castle made it hard for them to understand why they could not take part in it. Because The Castle had been empty for so long, they had grown used to being able to run about the house and grounds whenever they liked.
