Behind The Door

It's been a week since Georgia learned about Cross' true identity. She didn't want to confront him since, up until that point, she was still terrified of what she had seen, so she kept herself locked up in her room. Georgia was certain that Cross was not an ordinary creature due to his peculiar features. Until she determines the answer to the persistently bothersome question, she will never feel at ease. "Could he possibly be a yokai?" Georgia suddenly recalled the creature that Aiden had previously frequently told her about. One of Aiden's special talents, in addition to painting, dancing, and crafting, is the ability to perceive strange entities, such as souls and other components, that are invisible to the naked eye. He was at first quite terrified of these creatures since he believed they would only harm him, but with time, he came to view them as close friends. Only then did Georgia consider the laptop sitting on Cross' desk in the study room. Maybe she can use it to learn more about the creature that has taken over his entire being. Georgia surveyed the entire area. Alice was preparing lunch in the kitchen while Cross was in his room. Cross stayed in his room all day, reading books, and only leaving to eat dinner at night. He has been acting in this manner ever since the first day she arrived at the mansion. While everyone was engaged in other activities, Georgia seized the chance to sneak into the study room. She didn't encounter trouble since Cross left the room open. "Damn it!" It was the first time Georgia had worked with this kind of gadget, so she didn't know how to use it. She is permitted to use everything in the mansion except for this kind of stuff. She won't wonder why Cross has been so strict with her. It was more than an hour, and Georgia was still unable to discover the password. Though virtually bursting with potential hints, none of them matched, which made her upset. She didn't believe Cross had this much skill in this area. Georgia let out a dejected sigh. Her eyes shifted to the books on the bookshelves as she lifted her face away from the laptop. She stood up and moved in its direction. Some of these books are histories of various nations but the majority of them are classic medical. If Georgia could clearly remember, Cross was a physician in a remote part of Japan twenty-two years ago, but following the hospital m******e, he decided to resign and choose to manage his own business. However, since Cross hardly ever left the mansion, it was still unclear to Georgia what kind of business he had chosen to manage. Georgia was about to leave when she noticed the book on one of the side tables on the left side of the room. She walked up to it and gave it a close examination. Compared to the books she saw on the bookshelf, this book appeared different. A large red stone with an etched wolf-like mark has been placed in the center of the cover, which also has a substantial and aged appearance. She recognized the mark, but she was unable to recall where or when she had first seen it. Georgia's heart began to pound. She had the same reaction when she first saw Cross. She sensed a powerful energy taking hold of her while holding this book. "So, you're here. Alice and I have been looking for you for a while." Georgia swiftly placed the book back on the table and turned to face the entrance. She saw Cross enter the room. "I just returned the book I read last night. I'm sorry if I didn't ask your permission to enter this room." Georgia swallowed and was perspiring heavily. Cross would undoubtedly reprimand her when he learned that she had tampered with some of his belongings. Cross turned his head to the table where he had set one of his ancient books. It's not in the sequence it was before. Georgia had tampered with it, he was certain of it. "Is that so?" Cross went to his table. "Please, have a seat. I'd want to talk to you." After what happened that night, Cross never had the opportunity to speak with Georgia because she constantly locked herself in her room. He realized that he had instilled a lot of terror in her, so he reasoned that perhaps he ought to just explain everything to her and put an end to all of the worries on her mind. Georgia slightly c****d her head. Her hold on her skirt became firm. "If you're worried about what happened the other night, don't be; I'm okay. I promise I won't tell anyone about your secret." Cross took a deep breath, then lean on the swivel chair and fixed his gaze intently on the ceiling. "It's not a big deal for me if others find out about my secret. I don't care about anyone else but you, Georgia," Cross said in despair. "I know that up to now you're still terrified of me, and I felt incredibly awful for myself. I feel like I'm going crazy wondering whether things will go back to the way it was before; if Georgia I knew still loves and cares for me," Cross continued. He then closes his eyes. Even though Georgia only learned Cross' true identity one week ago, he feels that she has entirely drifted away from him. They no longer converse or even share around the dinner table. To endure all of this, it seemed as though he had committed a serious fault. He feels so little. He feels as though the entire world has abandoned him. Cross proved once more that the blood in his veins may perhaps be a curse. Georgia might not have changed her opinion of him if he had been normal like the people in this world. If only Cross could send out a universal request for him to become a normal being. Perhaps, Georgia may not be afraid of him, that nothing will ever alter their close bond as a family. Cross is Alpha Devoine Piescraft's heir. He was regarded as the most powerful alpha alive at the time, but after the White Crest Pack was brutally massacred twenty years ago, he awoke powerless. The pack's wise elders and accomplished healers claim that a powerful force was turned into a seal to halt Cross's strength and power. They claim that the creator is far stronger than Cross', and they are unsure of how to get rid of it. Due to what had occurred, Cross decided against taking the leadership and instead entrusted it to his younger brother, Jin Piescraft. Cross decided to set out to find a way to break the seal, but he was unsuccessful. He made the decision not to go back and to live as a normal being in the Apparent Realm. The world in which mortals reside. He encounters Dhalia, his best friend. Georgia bit her bottom lip after she heard Cross' statements. Her eyes begin to fill with tears as she says, "That is not true. No matter what happens, I will never change; nothing will alter our relationship, dad." But before her tears could fully flow, Cross hurried to her side and quickly encircled her in his arms. "I apologize, but this needs to be done for your good." Out of nowhere, a shadow emerged behind Georgia. It reaches for her forehead and touched it gently. A blue light emanated from Georgia's forehead which contains all of her memories since childhood. She could still clearly recall some of them, while others were long gone. Georgia's memories, which contain his genuine nature, must be erased, even if Cross doesn't want them to. His need to keep it a secret ultimately won out over his want to give her the complete truth since it was the only way he knew to keep her safe. "Jin called and said he needed you at the first district right away." Cross took a deep breath and then held it as he reclined back in the chair, holding his forehead. He has spent numerous nights soaking up the paperwork, which has left him quite exhausted and kept him up late. He had promised Georgia that he would drive her to the college where she would enroll, but it now appears like his schedule won't allow it, especially after he received a call from his younger brother. "Please let Georgia know that I have a business meeting to attend and that Terrence will be picking her up and dropping her off instead." With a smile on her lips, Alice replied, "It's a good thing your mind has been enlightened. Don't worry, I'll take care of explaining to Georgia. I'm sure she'll understand everything," and left the room. Cross inserted the documents he planned to bring inside the attached case. Additionally, he has packed the items he will carry, including spare t-shirts, shorts, and underwear as well as some personal items. If the scheduled meeting of the first district officials drags out, it can take him a few days. "Please look after Georgia while I'm away. I'll be right back after everything is sorted. Alright, I'm leaving," Cross remarked, carrying the attached case and a gray traveling bag. Cross opened the door, which was situated directly within the attic. Two women wearing red yukata greeted him. "Master Cross, are you ready?" One of the women asked. Cross nodded and he suddenly vanished with the women. Alice was left in front of the attic door. She was aware of the type of creature Cross was after serving him for more than thirty years. She initially thought she may die when she saw his altered shape, and she was much more alarmed when he suddenly appeared on the other side of the door, inside the attic. The thought of that location makes Alice's hair stand on end in terror, especially when she considers the various creatures that reside there. Cross quickly spotted her, which is fortunate since else they may have been feasting on her. Alice was about to step on her feet when she suddenly remembered that door. She had numerous opportunities to access the attic, but because it was against one of Cross' strict instructions, she never once dared to tamper with his possessions there. Alice swallowed one after another. She was aware that what was going through her head was a betrayal and a tremendous boldness, but she wouldn't feel at ease until she got the answer to the question that had been bothering her ever since that day. She faced the door once more and carefully opened it. She pulled a small flashlight out of her shirt pocket; she usually carried one with her in case of an emergency or circumstances like this. There is another door inside the attic that Alice is having trouble with in addition to the door that acts as a tunnel to the other world. Her hand was trembling and she was visibly perspiring heavily when she touched the doorknob. Alice's heart began to beat rapidly as soon as she opened the door. She slowly raised the flashlight to brighten the room but she wasn't prepared for what she was about to witness. "L-lady Georgia–" Alice's eyes widened when she recognized the person in the portrait. The woman looks exactly like Georgia. Alice covered her mouth and abruptly dropped the flashlight after seeing the details written below the image. Gwendolyn Valentines Died-1986 *** "You monster! You are still alive but your soul is burning in hell! The day will come when heaven itself will charge you for all your misdeeds!" The woman, aged between fifteen and sixteen, screamed at the man standing in front of her. Her feet and hands were both chained. She has wounds on various parts of her body, and her right eye, which is swollen and nearly black, makes it difficult for her to open it. The man smirked and approached the woman. He lunged for the woman's face, gripped it, and sank his nails into her skin while his eyes were glazing. The woman's face was dripping with a tiny bit of red liquid. "When will you learn from the harshness of your tongue, woman? Don't worry, I promise that after you give birth to the child in your womb, I will give you the peace and freedom that you seek. That is if you're still alive," the man said and burst with laughter. The woman gritted her teeth, "You f*****g asshole! I swear, I will kill you the soon I get out of here!" Four consecutive slaps emerged from the man's palm after a hard one. The hard hit she received caused several of the wounds on her face to reopen. The woman spat on the floor and turned to face the man, her eyes blazing with rage. "When the time comes for my death, I'll make sure I take you to hell with me, Damian Volcann!" Damian Volcann is the leader of the Red Crest Pack in the Pentagon Realm. He is vicious and callous. Even his own kind were slaughtered by him in his quest for infinite supremacy. The Pentagon and Apparent Realm are familiar with Damian Volcann. In addition to being involved in extensive prostitution, child trafficking, drug use, and gambling, he also owns an opulent building that serves as a cover for a farm where surrogate babies are delivered. After the babies are born, they sell them to wealthy families who are unable to have children of their own and Georgia is the major target of this operation. Damian raised his hand and was going to strike the woman once more when the door unexpectedly opened. A man of around the same age as the woman entered; his eyes are lifeless and emotionless; he resembled a dead body that had sprung to life. "Our men had spotted Georgia Piescraft at a famous university somewhere in Los Angeles," the man reported and glanced at the woman, but the woman just c****d her head to avoid his gaze. "Send additional men to make sure she won't escape." Damian gave a strong order and grinned. He is finally about to achieve what he has been longing for, and once he has done so, he will be the most powerful being on earth and no one can stop him.
