Laura P.O.V
When I woke up, my parents and I were on the train. I had gone up to Ahri in my sleep and cured me with her magic. If I remember correctly, she didn't possess any magic nor have the scent when I first met her. I asked her about her magic but she said the time hasn't come yet.
I wondered at the thought of why she told me to wait. What is she waiting for? It's all so mysterious especially the part where I can only meet her in my dreams. Why? I kept on pondering this thought until a soft and warm hand touched me on my shoulder. I turned to look at who was it and it was my father. He just smiled at me with a warm and comforting smile on his face. My dad is charming as always.
Whenever we were in trouble, he never fails to comfort us with his warm smile, but I always recognize the fear and the panic deep down in his heart. All he wanted was to give us the hope of survival to overcome any obstacles that we go through. He is such a good father I am very grateful. My mom was sleeping next to dad, her head was resting on his shoulder.
"Dad, where are we going?"
"To a friend’s house in Damberg."
"That's far," I complained.
"Well," he sighs. "That's the closest friend who lives near us"
"Still it's far from Senitor."
"Well, there's no choice. Aren't there," he defended.
"I guess so," I sighed.
I saw the world tree as I look out the window. I guess we've arrived in Vhadia. The Yggdrasil, the ancient tree, it's been with us for a long time. It's old and magical with a gigantic library inside. I've been inside there once and it feels magical. I long to go there just one more time, but I knew I couldn't.
The king of this kingdom had died mysteriously and the eldest son took over the throne. The new king, Vhadmier, hated magic and ordered the guards to destroy the world tree since spells and magic came from within the tree. The guards tried to burn the tree, chop the tree, and use magic to destroy it, but all their efforts went in vain, so the king ordered the guards to take out every spell book from the tree to burn it to crisp. The tree writes, record books and put it on the shelves by itself. I remembered there was sparkling fairies put their shimmering gold dust everywhere they go.
Legend says the tree was gifted to us by the gods to show they will be forever in our debt. In the past, people had offer sacrifices to gods to please them. They presented us with this tree so that we can gain knowledge of magic from the divine books. The people of the land were filled with merriment until the new king arrived. Many people wept and rebelled against the king, but they ended up losing their lives including the supernatural beings. The king demanded peace and believes that magic and the supernatural beings are the sources of evil.
"Looks like the poison from your body has vanished." dad's voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Dad, there is something I want to talk about."
"What is it?"
"There is this girl who keeps on showing up in my dreams and I want to look for her."
So I told him everything and what had caused me to run out of energy the last time. Soon my mother woke up and lent her ears to me. My parents weren't very delighted with my thoughts, searching for the girl. Especially, when I first mention the name Ahri. It was then parents had gotten even more uncomfortable.
"Listen, Laura, since you seem anxious, we will tell you everything," dad looks depressed. "A very long time ago, there was this girl too who keeps dreaming about another girl. She is an Alpha werewolf just like you. As a matter of fact, she has the same symptom as you. She has no control over her wolf. Every day she wakes up in a whole different area and freaks out she is just very like you. She didn't know what to do she was so scared, so she thought death is the only solution, but that's where everything change. She started seeing this girl in her dreams and started having the urge to find her. She then asks her parents for permission. Initially, they refuse, but her depression made them allow her to adventure out to search for the girl. The parents waited and waited for every day for her return. They waited from days to months, and months to years, but their daughter never came back. No one knows what happened to her whether she was missing, dead, or alive, but her body was never found."
"Look, Laura, I know that you have the same strong urge to search for her," mom blurted out. "But I am worried that you're going put yourself in danger."
"What happened to the girl?" Was only the sentence that came out of my mouth.
"Laura-," dad spoke softly.
"What happened to the girl!" I yelled. My emotions were all heightened. My parent’s rejection turned all my hopes to dust, leaving me with nothing but fear.
"Laura, please-" mom begged.
"Stop! Just stop! Please just tell me what happened to the girl." My parents gaze turned away from mine. I cursed under my breath and ran towards the hall of the train. My dad who ran after me eventually caught up to me. Everything happened so fast that I didn't realize it until I felt heat emitting from my cheeks.
"Would you stop being selfish," my dad yelled and grabbed my hand. "Come back to your seat we're making a big scene here." I walked back reluctantly and silently. Anger rushed up to me like a raging fire. My dad… He hit me! Never did he lay his hands on me. Never did he yell at me. My mom gave her best to calm and bring dad to his emotional state of mind. "C'mon honey," her voice softens. "Don't be like this we already told you the girl's body can never found again."
"What I meant was the girl in the dream."
"She was never heard from since then."
I was sad I thought my parents would let me go on the search for Ahri, but I was wrong. They were too overprotective. They didn't want me to end up like the girl who went missing. With tears in my eyes, I went to sleep.
