Snow fell quietly over Geneva as Liam’s convoy entered the city under diplomatic clearance.
From the outside, it looked peaceful — polished glass towers, white flags fluttering along the UN district. But Liam knew peace was often just a mask for war.
Amelia walked beside him, her breath forming faint clouds in the cold air.
“I still can’t believe they called this operation Iron Veil. Sounds like something from a Cold War file.”
“It is,” Liam replied. “And it’s about to become real again.”
Inside the UN Security Wing, they were escorted to the intelligence division. Colonel Abrams — an old mentor of Liam’s — stood waiting. His face was pale, eyes hard.
“Captain Tran, Miss Laurent. We have a problem.”
He placed a folder on the table — photos, satellite images, names.
Every one of them was a senior UN or corporate officer — all secretly linked to Specter’s network.
“They’ve infiltrated everything,” Amelia whispered.
“And it gets worse,” Abrams said. “Specter isn’t just after weapons. He’s after control of the Sentinel Protocol — an AI defense system that can override every drone and strike unit in the UN’s arsenal.”
Liam’s heart froze.
That system was supposed to prevent wars — not start them.
“If Specter gains access,” Liam said, “he can launch strikes under any nation’s name. It’ll trigger global conflict.”
Abrams nodded grimly.
“Your mission, Captain: locate the data core before Specter does. But trust no one — even inside this building.”
As they left the room, Amelia’s phone buzzed — a private message, no sender ID.
Just one line:
“Vincent knows you’re here.”
Her hand trembled slightly. Liam noticed but said nothing.
Both of them knew — Geneva was no longer neutral ground.
