CHAPTER 1 – The Mission Begins
The sound of helicopter blades cut through the night sky. Underneath the dim red light, Captain Liam Tran adjusted his tactical vest, his sharp eyes scanning the map on his tablet.
“Operation Eagle is a go,” the voice from the radio confirmed.
Liam’s team—an elite multinational unit under the United Nations Peacekeeping Force—was about to infiltrate a war-torn city to rescue twenty civilian hostages held by insurgents.
“Check your gear. No mistakes tonight,” Liam’s calm but firm voice carried authority. Even the toughest soldiers from other nations listened without question.
As they descended from the helicopter, the smell of smoke and gunpowder filled the air. Liam led the way, his movements precise and calculated. Years of martial arts training and field experience had made him a legend among the special forces.
“Hostages are in the north wing,” whispered Javier, the Spanish sniper.
“Copy. I’ll take point.”
Liam slipped through the shadows, neutralizing guards with silent precision. Within minutes, they reached the hostages.
A sudden explosion shook the building. “We’re compromised!” shouted Mark from the comms.
“Get them out!” Liam barked, pushing two wounded children toward the exit.
He turned back, covering his team’s retreat as bullets tore through the walls.
“Captain! Fall back!”
“Not until everyone’s safe.”
With one last burst of gunfire, the final insurgent fell. Liam emerged from the smoke, face streaked with dust, eyes blazing with determination.
The rescue was a success—but deep down, Liam knew it was just another day in a life where peace was a dream he could never truly hold.
