A loud ping woke her up the next morning. She groaned into her pillow as she grabbed her phone. She checked to see if it was her alarm, but it was a text message. “Who the hell texts this early in the morning?” She opened the text with sleepy eyes. "Does he know what you really are?" The sleep disappeared from her eyes immediately. She sat up slowly and read it again. Then dropped the phone face down and stared at the ceiling. Her mind was racing. She left for work without eating and shut out every worry creeping into her from several angles. She had dealt with worse and she had survived worse; she wouldn't let this bother her.
