Louis heard the car hit her through the phone. He heard impact, and the next thing he heard was nothing else. He knew when the phone hit the dashboard because Sophie’s voice stopped sounding from the phone. It was replaced with open air and distant sounds he could not make sense of. He panicked immediately.
