I drop Everly off at the university and then drive to my mother's house.
When I arrive, I see her on the backyard swing. She seems to be reading a newspaper. I walk up to her quickly, and as soon as she sees me, she gives a big smile.
“You really came.”
“Of course, I missed you, mom,” I say as I sit beside her and give her a loving kiss on the forehead.
“Is Everly already taking the exam?”
“Yes, I just dropped her off at the university.”
“And how will it be to enter a university while pregnant?” she asks with a hard and firm tone, and I'm taken aback.
“What are you talking about? Everly is not pregnant.”
