I looked at Maverik who was taking off his armor, throwing it to the side. I took that chance and shot straight up, a bit too fast I should say as I felt a head rush cloud my thoughts for a split second. I swerved around Maverik, attempting to flee the room; until I felt something grab my wings. I froze, like any type of angles, fallen or not, wings were the biggest weak part of our bodies. Without them, we aren't technically who we are. By grabbing my wing, it was a clear sign that he was trying to prove a point. I slowly turned around, like a child being held by the ear as he pulled my wing closer to him, myself included.
Once I was close enough to him, his arms once again wrapped around my waist and I felt him pull me roughly against his hard chest.
"You are mine." he whispered quietly, beginning to kiss along my jaw and down my neck, getting lower all the while. I grabbed his head as if submitting to him and he clenched his jaw, until I used the momentum to knee him in the face.
He recoiled from the blow and shot out a shadow streak towards me, in which I turned and dodged it before it could touch me. I grabbed the handle of the door and suddenly froze, feeling the shadowed enchantment stop my movements. I went completely limp and hands grabbed me again.
Since I couldn't fight or even move, I tried to summon my magic at least, but even that wouldn't work. My jaws wouldn't move so I let loose a scream of sorts, trying to alert someone. A hand slapped me across the face and I was thrown back onto the bed, my wings bent at weird angles.
Maverik stripped off his shirt, his body was covered in scars from his previous battles that involved our enemies. It was at that moment that I thought of my mortal. I was destined to protect him, but who would protect me?
Maverik suddenly covered his body on my clothed one, his kisses traveled back to the place where they were originally, cupping my breast under my corset and pulling slightly at the strings that were tightened. I didn't want to be unclothed by him, not by the one who had pursued me for years, trying to catch my attention even when I wouldn't bat an eye towards him. What made him act now was far beyond my knowledge.
I tried with all the strength I could to move any type of muscles but these enchantments usually lasted for half an hour, and it had just started for me. My eyes followed his path as he got lower and lower and he slowly trailed his fingers up the length of my leg, gripping my inner thigh briefly.
I looked around for help, my window, my door, anywhere.
Finally, my eyes rested on the raven who was watching us with a tilted head. I mustered the strength to give it a sort of pleading look. It stared at me with yellow eyes.
Wait? Yellow?
The bird suddenly squawked loudly, startling Maverik from his path to between my legs. I breathed a little slower but then watched as the bird started to flap against the cage it was in.
It certainly knew how to create a scene though. Maverik looked at me and then back at the animal and shrugged, turning back to me once again. However, the bird had others ideas.
Its wings started beating against the cage and suddenly, there was a voice in my head.
Nobody will touch you again.
My mind went blank for a second and I looked at Maverik to see if he was talking to me, but his attention was on the bird who was still making a ruckus but looking at me.
The funny thing was that the voice that was inside my head was speaking to me as if it were really there. But it was soothing, and calm, and...dangerous?
The raven suddenly burst into a bunch of feathers and I stared at it. There was nothing there but a bunch of feathers that fell to the floor. My eyes teared up and Maverik turned back to me again, seeming like he was irritated by the disturbance. He got closer and suddenly kissed me with such a passion, it was disgusting. But I couldn't even move my lips to get away.
I felt something slide over my arm and I shivered suddenly, my nerves beginning to wake up. My eyes turned and I saw something scaly drift out of my vision, Maverik blocked out the rest of the scene, his mouth still on mine.
He made a sound in the back of his throat and I felt the side of my skirt being pulled on, and I knew what he was trying to do. I opened my eyes and was met with a pair of yellow eyes again. Though, it was the same yellow eyes I had seen so long ago, but yet, there was a difference in how it looked at me. I tore my gaze away and looked at the scales that peered over Maverik's shoulder.
I tried with everything I could to get up, but all I managed to do was shift my torso just barely.
It was a serpent. On Maverik's back and staring directly at me over his shoulder. I looked up as the hood of the snake opened up and fangs suddenly peeked out from the mouth. I closed my eyes, waiting for the bite, until I heard a small moan. But it wasn't from me. It was from Maverik.
I opened my eyes and saw the snake fall off his back and when I looked at Maverik, his eyes rolled and he dropped off the end of my bed, his body falling to the floor. That scaly feeling came back again and I watched as the serpent slithered along my body and each time I felt its body move, I shuddered more and more until my muscles woke up.
I rose up, pushing the snake off me in disgust and watched as the feathers in my room swirled again and pulled itself towards the serpent. And then, there was no serpent, but just the raven.
It looked at the bird and it spread its wings and flapped back to the cage, ruffling its feathers and bent its head down at me, like it was nodding.
I turned, my mind racing with thoughts that would help explain what had just happened. Maverik was still slumped on the floor.
I sat on the bed, putting my hands on my head, until I heard a knock on the door.
"Kayla?"
