Chapter Three
Mai felt a tap on her shoulder as she walked beside Jake. She turned to catch Evelyn wiggling her eyebrows, and paused as Evelyn looped her arm through hers and pulled her back. Dustin and Jake started to talk, going on ahead of the girls. Evelyn slowed her pace further, creating more distance between them and the guys, then looked at her intently.
“Sooooo...” she drawled, waiting for Mai to dish.
Mai shook her head. “Later,” she hissed.
Evelyn chuckled. “All right, later it is. Don’t think for a minute you're getting out of telling me every detail of your conversation though, you hear me?”
