THREADS OF TIME

( Lucy just gets home from school in her black high waist skirt , long sleeved white packet shirt, black and white striped neck tie , a black blazer jacket with her school's logo on the side a knee lengthed black socks and black shoes , her hair neatly made in box braids , she enters her room that is covered in Dark blue wall paper with gold stars flings her bag on the floor and sits on the bed ) LUCY : he didn't believe me ( she scoffs ) that i***t ( she rolls her eyes ) I'm sure I kept it in one of my pockets ( she begins to search her pockets ) Aha ! ( She pulls out a gold necklace with a ruby pendant shaped in a waterdrop with little diamonds on it from her blazers pocket ( she looks at it a little confused then her eyes widen as she realises something then she runs to her closet and brings out a beautiful red long ball gown she stands in front of a mirror places the dress on her body and checks it out with the necklace , she struggles trying to get a good view ) Okay I know it's stupid but ( she puts on the necklace ) I'll just give it a quick check and take it off , Oh God please don't let me turn into a yam ( she quickly prays then continues to check out the dress then she nods feeling satisfied ) that's better ( the necklace begins to glitch ) what the ? ( the necklace continues to glitch so she tries to take it off but it doesn't come off ) Jesus ! Lucy. Who sent you oo God ( she continues trying to take off the necklace when BOOM ! ( something like an explosion throws her to the floor ) Owww ( she grunts in pain ) what just ... ( she stops dumbfounded staring at the figure in front of her ) EARLIER THAT DAY ( Lucy and Martin are walking out of the school building , Martin , her best friend is wearing a uniform similar to hers only difference is that he is on trousers ) MARTIN : ..... so dribbled through their defence , took a step back and shot the ball from way behind the three point line ( he demonstrates as he speaks , acting as though if were playing a basketball ) I was having a good game and making a lot of shots and I almost broke Larry's record but then your " guy " ( he air quotes ) came in and started showing off ( he hisses ) LUCY : who's my guy ? ( she asks confused ) MARTIN : who else LUCY : ( a smile appears on her face ) Raphael ? ( she looks at him ) MARTIN : Of course , that goat ( he says in annoyance ) LUCY : speaking of the G.O.A.T ( she points at Raphael a tall , light skinned , handsome guy with a perfect jawline walking towards them with his friend Larry ) RAPHAEL : hey man ( he playfully hits Martin ) good game MARTIN : yeah , good game ( he says through his teeth ) LARRY : will you be in court tomorrow MARTIN : it's not like coach gives me much of a choice LARRY : exactly see you tomorrow boy , hey Lucy ( he gives her a handshake ) RAPHAEL : I almost didn't notice you there Lucy , what's up ? LUCY : I'm okay RAPHAEL : see you tomorrow ( they leave ) MARTIN : I'm not a boy ( he says angrily ) LUCY : you're not much of a man either ( she smirks and starts to walk again ) MARTIN : Really ( he says surprised with a smile ) I see ( he follows behind ) no offence but what do you see in that guy he's a total prick , I mean not to compare but I'm a thousand times better than him in every way LUCY : ( she stops abruptly and turns to him ) don't get me wrong mango , you're indeed a hot a*s , tall , dashing guy that many girls trip over ( it's true ) but to me you'll always be 0 to Raphael ( she pats his shoulder before she continues walking ) MARTIN : harsh ( he nods ) but I accept the compliment LUCY : ‘abeg’ be fast our ride is only a few minutes away and i have to get some things from the store MARTIN : and by that you mean you'll send me to get the things while you stand outside on your phone assuming that fine guys are looking at you ( he chuckles then she turns around and starts chasing him down the block ) A FEW MINUTES LATER ( Lucy is standing outside by the supermarket chewing gum and operating her phone when a guy runs up to her and places a necklace in her hands ) GUY 1 : keep it , don't let anything happen to it and most importantly don't let them get it ( he says in panick rushing his words then he starts to run again ) LUCY : ( startled ) who is them ? ( she asks very confused ) Who are you ? ( just then three other rough looking guys run after the first one chasing him into a corner , Lucy follows them slowly keeping a safe distance , she peeps at them beating up the first guy until he starts to bleed ) GUY 2 : what is it Lawrence , just hand it over and save yourself the pain LAWRENCE : Over my dead body GUY 3 : ( smirks ) as you wish ( he brings out a g*n with a silencer and shoots him multiple times ) GUY 4 : that's enough he's dead already LUCY : ( gasps in fear ) s**t ! ( They all look towards the direction her voice came from and began running towards her direction but she had already ran back to wait for Martin when they got there ) MARTIN : Lucy I’ve been calling , where did you go ? ( he looks a little concerned ) LUCY : I just ....... they just ........ a guy ...... they killed ( she struggles to speak as she is in shock ) MARTIN : Lucy ! ( he snaps ) what is wrong with you ? LUCY : Martin I just saw them kill a person ( she manages to say ) I swear it Martin : yeah right . ( he scoffs ) Lucy this is a public place , you really want me to believe that sometimes was killed and only you saw it LUCY : ( her eyes widen ) you don't believe me ? MARTIN : there's our ride ( he begins walking towards the car and Lucy follows behind ) LUCY : Martin you don't believe me ? MARTIN : ( opens the car door ) no I don't , now got in LUCY : of course you don't ( she folds her hands over her chest ) I'm not going MARTIN : Okay ( he enters the car and is about to close the door when she holds it ) you think I'll beg you LUCY : ‘come on’ shift ( she enters the car and they drive off )
