THURSDAY - JULY 10 - 7:30AM - VILLA ROMANO
I woke up to silence. His scent still lingering next to me where he laid last night, but the space besides me was cold now.
Across the hall, his room had to be empty by now. The house was too quiet.
My phone was on the nightstand.

I made it. I'm in Reno. I love you. I'm keeping my promise.
That was it. That was the last one.
I pressed my hand to my chest. The chain was still there. The ring hidden under my shirt. Low. Right where he put it yesterday, resting against my skin, still warm.
"I love you too," I whispered to the empty room.
I remembered yesterday. His hands on my face. "You're my other half." The way he kissed me goodbye like he was memorizing me, like he was trying to breathe me in.
