I barely slept.
That 2:14AM text was still burning in my head: Need you in Reno by Thursday. It glowed on my phone screen every time I closed my eyes. That gave me today and tomorrow. Two days. That's all I had left.
I found Luca in the kitchen at 6AM. He was already up, making coffee, his hair a mess. He took one look at me and frowned.
"You look like s**t," he said.
"I'm taking Milla out today. And tomorrow."
Luca studied me for a long moment over his coffee cup. "How long do you have?"
