Chapter 2

Hayley

Dad opened the door before calling me, "I'll be right there" I answer swallowing down the horrible capsule then heading downstairs.

Kace stood there with a bouquet of roses,I'm going to a dinner his mom organized, I was not ready for that but Kace and Drake said I should just relax,"you look.......wow"Kace says looking up and down my body,I wore a nice black dress that hugged my body like a blanket,don't know why mom even bought it, my hair was curled and bouncing on my butt,yep my hair is that long, and thank God I could wear my new ankle boots, no makeup thank you very much, "thanks, who knew you could've looked decent" I mock looking at his dinner suit, I'd be lying if I didn't say his tux wasn't hot on him, "if its a compliment, I'll take it,that's the first and I will cherish it", we both laughed lightly as he handed me the roses,"thanks......mom,dad?", they both stood at the kitchen door "this is Kace" I say "it's nice meeting you" they say with warm smiles "you too" "I'll see you guys later" "uh.....actually mom thought you could spend the night" "uh..." "sure,go ahead, have fun" "okay,love you" "love you too".

"I can't sleep in the same room with you" I mutter "not with that dress on babe" Kace says eyeing me hungrily "you jerk,watch the road you perv", he laughs lightly,he's unbelievable, I hope this night isn't ruined.

Klara grins as she saw me,somehow, my smile grew as I saw her,"Hayley,you look great" "thanks,Kace hasn't even said anything but it's all good" "babe?, of course I did" "you did?,sorry,didn't hear" "you're gonna be the death of me Hayley" "I know, its fun", Klara was just looking at us in admiration, we looked at her "Kace,you can't lose her" she says taking my hand,he looks down at me before kissing my forehead "I won't, I promise mom", I hate that he's lying to her, her features seemed to relax "come on, everyone's waiting" she says quickly, Kace breathed out taking my hand.

I was shocked when I saw the full table, like his whole family is here, I turned to him, "oh boy" I breathed getting nervous, Kace rubbed my back in reassurance "you'll be fine Hayles,come on". "Hey everyone,this is Hayley,my girlfriend" Kace announced "hi" I wave and they all smile "hello", I calmed down a little bit. "Kace,she's quite gorgeous,how'd you get her?" Max,his cousin asks "uh......long story" Kace says "they just bumped into each other" Klara says chuckling, "couldn't you bump into me?" Greg, his other cousin asks and I chuckle "be careful Gregory, Kace has a hold on this one" Martha,his aunt says motioning to us looking at each other, I was looking at him because his hand was on my knee,I bit my lip.

"Hayley?" "Hmm?,sorry", Joe chuckles "you two look so much in love, how long have you been together?" "two.......three months and a week","and you didn't bring her out Kace?", Kace smiles "she's kinda my prized possession" he says as his hand traveled up my thigh,I grabbed it immediately, sending him a warning smile,he leans closer to my ear "you should've worn another dress,this one is too tempting" he whispers biting my earlobe,I tried my best not to whimper at the sound of his voice,yup,I'm doomed, "don't even" I managed,he smirks sitting up,I sighed "so what do you want to become Hayley?" Klara asks.

Kace's hand dropped again, "uh......a vet" I answer afraid to say the whole word because my voice wouldn't cope,I'm not even sure I'll live to see that day,much less live through high school, I've only got a few more months left,Kace doesn't even know about my heart disease, "that's nice,isn't it Kace?" Victor asks,I closed my thighs on his hand, making him almost choke "y-yeah,that's really something, and I'll support her all the way",with the last part,his fingers danced inside my thigh,I crossed my legs,he shot me a look which meant 'wrong move',I was dying here,we're having dinner with his family and he's seducing me,I put the glass at my lips to stop the whimpers that would embarrass me,he's unbelievable,"why don't you two just go" Klara says and we look at her "its obvious what's going on under that table" Victor says,Kace and I looked at each other before getting up.

I shoved him once we reached his room,Kace laughs "I can't believe you did that!" I snapped "what?, you trapped my hand" "what was it doing down there in the first place?!" "I can touch my girlfriend if I want to", I roll my eyes walking to the bed and sitting on it, he walks to me "you're not mad at me right now?" "no,I'm not" "nice sarcasm, you kinda turned me on at the pizza place,then you wear that, you deserved it", I looked up at him "unbelievable", that's just him.

He was undressing, right in front of me, he's sick, I know it, when his abs almost blinded me, I looked away,he's literally standing between my legs,does he even know I'll die at the sight of his well toned chest with his mom's name on the left and his on his abdomen, the dude was hot I tell you. "Hayles,are you okay?" Kace asked walking out of his closet,he was only in sweatpants, see,he's gonna kill me,literally be the death of me.

"Yeah,just thinking" I shrugged looking up at him, he stood between my legs again, if he's not on pills,I'm cured,"you sure?" "yes" "look,I'm not sorry and I'll do it again if I want to", I raise an eyebrow at him "oh really?,you know I happen to hate bad boys" "you put up with me" "yeah,for Klara", he smiles leaning in,I moved away but he cupped my face then pressed his lips on mine,why did my body react to that. Kace deepened the kiss,my life is falling into my hands, and I'm afraid I won't be able to put it back up.

My hands snaked around his neck then to his hair, the midnight strands slipping past my fingers smoothly, his hands traveled down my figure, he stopped at my thighs,I was about to say something but his tongue slipped into my mouth, my back arched at the movement, while our tongues clash against each other, his hands ran further down,taking my shoes off,I felt myself being pushed back,Kace wrapped my legs around him,laying in between my legs,"you're unbelievable, this isn't happening" I say between kisses,I felt him smirk before ignoring me.

"Well looky here", we moved apart,"seriously Drake?" Kace asked,I was thankful.

Kace didn't move, his hands either side of my head,Drake smirks "I sent you to dinner, not to make love to the cook" he says squinting at me,I rolled my eyes pushing Kace off of me,who obliged sitting on the bed.

"What are you doing here?" I ask Drake "Harry and I broke up, for good", "I think I should give you two some time" Kace says getting up, he looks at me "we're not finished" he mouthed "in your little boy dreams Porters,and bring me back a cupcake", he nods leaving. "Tell me what happened", Drake sat on the floor beside me "he asked me to come over and seeing that we made up,I went,unfortunately when I got there,he wasn't alone" "oh shoot" "he tried to tell me it was in but I blew him off with a few punches,told him I never wanted to see him again" he says "really,I'm sorry" I hugged him "its fine,I probably shouldn't worry about him either" "I'll come home with you if you want" "and risk having nieces and nephews?,no thank you", I punched him "shut up" "you two need to handle all that lust,or I'm getting you a real boyfriend" "I don't want any guys,you know I'm only helping him out" "yeah,what would've happened if I didn't walk in?,you'd be screaming his name so the whole house could hear huh?" "even in your time of pain,you still annoy me,go",he chuckles hugging me "I'll see you tomorrow if you're not in too much pain" "go Drake" "bye,love you" "love you more".

Kace came in with my cupcake,yeeeeeesssss,I was dying for one,"here you go" he says handing it to me,"thank you"I grin taking it, "why didn't you change?" Kace asked "do I have anything to change into?" I ask and he walks to his closet getting a shirt and a shorts,"how will that shorts fit me?" "don't worry, your ass is big enough to hold", I roll my eyes then walked to the bathroom "don't change yet" "leave me alone Kace", after changing, I texted my parents so they knew I was fine. "Is Drake gonna be okay?" Kace asked "maybe,he looks like a rock but he's real softy, it'll probably take weeks to calm him down" "so he'll need you" "yeah,why?" "but I'll need you too" "its not like I'll disappear you retard, just school hours,lots of school hours",he pouts "fine,its cause he's your friend" "like you could stop any other guy from spending time with me, I'm not your real girlfriend remember" "so?,it still has girl in it", he's so unreal and stupid.

Josh gazed at Drake, who was leaned up against the wall with his shades on,his head bowed and his arms crossed,his usual posture,he looked so badass and hot,but I'm starting to think Josh thinks so too.

"Are you gonna gawk or are you gonna talk to him?" I ask making him jump "oh.....no...uh.....I wasn't-" "save it Josh,the whole school knows you've got a crush on Drake" Ashley says "you do?" I ask happily,I'd love to see my best friend smile again, he's been broken since that jerk did that to him,hasn't talked much and his parents want to get Harry put in a funeral home for hurting their baby,trust me,he's roadkill if I don't help out Drake,that's what they said,"yeah,but it's stupid"Josh blushed "what?!,you're like soooo hot,he'd cherish you" I say "just leave it" "fine then.......Drake, guess what?" I ask stopping at Drake,he looks at me "what?" "I got you gummy bears", his face lit up and he grinned taking his shades off,finally,I hand him the whole pack,"finally, something sweet.......hey,I know its too sudden but do you think?", he glanced at Josh who was in his phone,"oh,you like him?" I ask "yeah,he's hot" "I'll see what I can do for you",I gotta do this one thing for him.

I stopped at my locker,well more like stopped before I reached it,Kace was making out with a girl at my locker,seriously?,"excuse me,this is my locker" I point out,they both looked at me "so?" Kace asked "so move" I answer "maybe you should go" he says and I gaped at him "this is my locker, I need my books", his eyes darkened and his face held anger "I don't care!,now scram!" he yells,I gasped backing away,my heart sped up to beats I couldn't register, I walked away immediately feeling my heart jerking,I tried calming down but that didn't work.

I sat in class with my head on the desk,I haven't been yelled at in my life,it makes my heart rate high until I pass out,I felt something drip on my hand,I looked at the blood with wide eyes before getting up,"Hayley,are you okay?"Ashley asked "y-yeah,just going to the bathroom" I answer walking out immediately,the blood flushed down my nose rapidly, I walked as fast as I could to the bathroom, my chest ached badly,not again.

As I reached inside,the blood came up my throat, I dropped on my knees clutching my chest, my heart felt like it was gonna explode, "Hayles,no,hey" Drake says taking me up, "Drake i-it hurts" "I know", he swept me up off my feet into his arms then left, my eyes were getting heavy "don't even think about it" he says sternly,when he put me I the car, I passed out.

I opened my eyes,looking around, I'm in my room,everything hit me immediately, Kace yelled at me,I've never been yelled at, never,if I'm yelled at,this is what happens,or if I feel sad about something that'll stress me out and put a weight on my heart. The door opened revealing Drake,he smiles when he sees me, his smile didn't reach his eyes,"you're up"he says softly "yeah,how long was I out for?" I ask "just a few hours" "oh,that's good", he nods sitting next to me "who shouted at you?" Drake asks "what makes you think someone shouted at me?" I ask "Hayley, I've know you forever, I know you're not sad because there's nothing to make you sad so who yelled at you?", I didn't answer, "was it Kace?" "Drake,he doesn't know, just leave him alone" "seriously?,why did he yell at you?",I told him what happened before he decided to bribe me with cupcakes,"I'm gonna punch him" "what?,no" "I don't care what you say,he's got two best friends for when his mom's gone, who would I've had if you left today?", I didn't answer him and he left,first off,he's still pissed at Harry,so that'll probably put some swing in his punches.

Kace

I didn't mean to yell at her,I was just angry because my mom almost died this morning, she was looking at dad's pictures and got sad,I was pissed at everything that I let it out on Hayley,I saw how her eyes softened in fear,I'm so stupid.

Drake walked to me looking pissed with blood on his shirt, "are you serious dude,why'd you yell at her?" "I didn't mean to" "well you did,I told you she had a soft heart as much she seems badass,she's fragile" "where is she?", he looked at his phone before looking up at me "she's at her house,maybe you should talk tomorrow" "I guess" "trust me Kace,you're lucky she asked me not to punch you" he says shaking his phone "I gotta get her something to eat, see yah" "yeah,why's your shirt all bloody?" "I got in a fight with my ex,don't worry" "right,later".

"Where's Hayley?" Mom asks looking up from the book she was reading "I sorta yelled at her" I answer still feeling like crap "why?,did she do something wrong?" "no,I was with this other girl and she saw, I got mad because it was my fault", I can't tell her the real reason,"you better fix it Jay,that girl's a keeper" "don't I know it", she smiles "and Lindsey called, wanted to know if you two could talk" "what'd you say?" "I said no,I love Hayley and she makes you happy,even her name makes you smile, I can't let that w***e ruin your last chance at happiness", yeah,it's true, Hayley's got quite the hold on me,"good call, do you really love her mom?" "of course,she's funny and adorable, she argues with you just to get you mad at her then you two practically make up in two seconds", this woman is unbelievable,"yeah" "and that thing at dinner the other night Jay?" "yeah?" "I'd be trying to seduce my girl if she looked that hot,no one blamed you", I chuckle "I'm gonna try and talk to her because we've never really fought before" "you do that,I'm gonna fix dinner okay?" "okay", I walked up to my room,seeing Hayley's dress on my bed,"man".

"Are you gonna look at her all day?" Ashley asks "I'm afraid of that girl Ash" I answer,she rolls her eyes "just go,I'm sure she'll talk to you" she says "no" "dude just go", I ignored them while looking at Hayley laughing at Drake,who was telling her something stupid,"Hayley?!" Josh calls, she looks at us "yeah?" "come here", she says something to Drake and he followed her "what's up?" "Kace wants to say something", Josh hit me in the head before walking away "I'll be over there" Drake says walking away also,Hayley looked up at me,the brown flexes in her eyes twinkling, "I'm sorry for yelling at you" I say "oh,don't worry Klara called last night" "she did?" "yeah,says she'd hate for me to leave you because of one mistake, I said it was fine,but honestly its not......I don't know what happened but the next time you want someone to put your anger out on,don't choose me" "Hayley, I'm sorry, really" "yeah, me too,I guess I'll see you around" she walked away dragging Drake with her, "is it just me,or is there something more going on between you two" Ashley says "I'm not even sure what we are when we're not around mom" I answer softly, not even sure we're friends.

Hayley

"I meant to say,no" I say to Drake "please,its just a party" he urged "yeah,with drunk and horny teenagers,no thank you", then he used the card on me "but it's the only way I'll get over Harry", I sighed throwing him a look of disbelief,"fine,but only because of that reason" I say and he kissed my cheek "bestest best friend in the world" "I know", I hated parties, like totally hate them,it's against my nature to go to these things but if it makes Drake happy, I'll do it.

Drake drank his fifth beer,"I just don't get why he cheated" Drake mutters,oh boy, "I was loyal this whole time,but no,he wanted a blonde,Hayles?" "hmm?" "what's wrong with me?,why didn't he love me like he used to?" "Drake,you're perfect, Harry was just stupid and he's a complete jerk" "I know,but it still hurts", he walks away and I follow him as usual,"Drake,come on.....don't cry", too late,Kace and Josh walked over to us,just great, me avoiding him was going so well,"hey,is he okay?" Kace asks "no,he's heartbroken and wouldn't get over that jerk of a ex" I mutter looking at Drake's clenched jaw,"oh,maybe Josh could cheer him up"he suggests, I look at Josh "yeah,maybe" he answers,he whispers something to Drake and they both leave,finally,"and you're still here,why?"I ask Kace,he shrugs "you really need to get that attitude of yours in check" "no thanks".

"Can I ask you something?" Kace asks "might as well" I answer "why are you so harsh on everyone and you know you're soft?" "because its better to yell at someone than someone yelling at me" "that's stupid" "as you?" "just be nice" "why?, you weren't" "I apologized Hayles,come on" "I didn't say I forgive you now run along and do what you do best".

Kace did do what he did best,being a player,its weird I feel tempted to break his neck but I want to break everyone's neck,I'm just that type of person,I'm not even sure we're friends,we talk at school sometimes and at his house but I'm still a little confused. "Aren't you gonna do sumn about it?" Ashley asks "why?" I ask watching Kace tonguing some chic,"you two would be cute together" "yeah right,like I'll ever date him" "your call sweety", I was in need of a bathroom,I just needed a free place,away from all of this. I walked down the long hall,this house is huge, well its Josh and Ashley's so its gotta be huge. I finally found a room,I couldn't hear the music,thank goodness,I walked to the bathroom and closed the door. The door opened and there was talking,"where'd she go?" "I don't know, maybe went home" "she doesn't even live around here" "I still don't know" "cool,just keep an eye out,I'm gonna try get some sleep" "okay Kace", I'm screwed.
