CHAPTER SIXTEEN( Together at last.)

    "What do you want with Jackandi?" Jenka asked Nima. With a concerned look on her face.

    "He might help me with something." Nima responded. "Is something wrong?"

    "I was just- " then suddenly a bright flash of green light, lit the entire temple and a sound of glass

was being broken glass breaking lit the room.

    When they looked at the entrance they could see a silhouette of someone holding the green light

but neither of them could pinpoint who or what it was.

    The light finally dimmed and when they could finally see who it was, Jenka's eyes filled up tears of

happiness, it was Jackandi holding one the Serpent emerald with Mupo right behind him, still tied up

and the look of relief on Jackandi's face could show that his efforts were not in vain.

    When Jackandi saw Jenka, his eyes filled with tears,but he wasn't sure what he was feeling, he

was so happy that he didn't have anything to say. They both locked eyes, Jackandi started walking

towards her and she couldn't wait any longer, she ran into Jackandi's arms.

They embraced each other with a long hug and then he held her waist and they shared a passionate

kiss. "I thought....I thought I had lost you." Jenka said choking on her own words.

    "Not even a thousand years of suffering can make me give up on you." Jackandi said, also choking on

his words.

    "But how did you break the curse?"

    "I'll tell you about that later,but for now let's enjoy this moment."

    "Okay." She then hugged him again and they remained like that for a while.

Everyone else in the team was so confused that they didn't even notice Mupo tied up at the

entrance. "What is happening?" Nima asked Benga.

    "I'm just as confused as you are."

    Wolani started waking up slowly and she looked around and only saw one face she recognised and he

was tied up by the entrance,he looked really pissed off. She got up and walked to Mupo.

    "What is happening?" As she started to untie him.

    "What's happening is I'm leaving, but thanks for untying me." Jackandi then looked at Mupo.

    "Wait!....Njoka." Jackandi said.

    "NJOKA?!" Everyone else said in unison.

    " Don't leave ....I really need you." Jackandi said.

    "I've only been Njoka for a day and I haven't had a chance to rest."

    "You're the Njoka?" Wolani asked him.

    "Yes and don't think just because you untied me that I forgive you.....you put me through hell."

    "Look....I'm sorry but I really needed the money."

    "Everyone needs money, but that doesn't mean you have to go around stealing from people."

    "It was for something important."

    "So important that you have to resort to crime?"

    "Just hear me out okay." Mupo just started walking away. When he reached the door she said. "My

mother!" Mupo stopped walking but he didn't turn around. "She's very ill and I don't have the money

to help her. I tried asking around but I wasn't able to get any. I'm sorry I put you in all that trouble....I

was just really really desperate." Mupo turned around to speak.

    "I'm sorry for your mother, I hope she gets the best."

    "I bet Jenka can heal her." Benga said to Wolani.

    "Who's Jenka?" She asked.

    "The woman who saved you from a crawler's sting, if she can cure you, she can cure anyone."

    "I'm not sure about that but I can try." She said whilst still in Jackandi's arms.

    "You have a lot of explaining to do Jenka." Said Benga, jenka then smiled a bit.

    "Who's the mountain?" Jackandi asked Jenka.

    "That's Benga he's been taking care of me."

    "Really? Thank you big man."

    "There ....problem solved. Jenka will treat your mother. Now I'll be going" Mupo

    "Can you really do it?" Wolani asked her.

    "I can try...but I'm not certain." She responded.

    "Hey Jack, my sword please." Mupo said to Scourge. Then he slid his sword to him.

    "Thank you." Mupo left the temple but he stopped walking when his arm was pulled by Wolani.

    "Do you forgive me?" She asked him. Mupo rolled his eyes and then sighed.

    "Yes....now would you please let go of my hand. "

    "Okay." She then let go of his hand with a smile on her face. Mupo wondered why she was so keen

on him forgiving her. She walked back to the temple and stood by the entrance to excuse Nima. Nima

then walked down the stairs and said.

    "Wait!" Wolani was interested in what she had to say, so she stayed outside to listen. Mupo waved his

hands in exasperation. "I can't get a break now can I? " he thought to himself.

    "What is it?" He asked her trying not to sound frustrated.

    "You're the Njoka right?" She asked him.

    "Yes...so",he replied wondering why he didn't say no.

    "I need your help with something."

    "I'm sorry miss but i-"

    "You're the Njoka right?" She said as she started walking towards him. Mupo took a deep breath

and and sighed.

    "What do you need help with?"

    "My....my home town Gloydius....it's being harassed."

    "Harassed....by who?"

    "Sando and his slitherane army." Mupo raised his eyebrows

    "You want me to fight a Slitherane army? By myself?! Are you crazy?!"

    "You don't have to fight all of them, just Sando. If you take him down they'll leave Gloydius for

sure."

    "Why doesn't your town fight back?"

    "Gloydius isn't known for it's Brawlers. It's the town where Vipers go if they want to relax."

    "Call the other Vipers for help then."

    "I can't....the Slitheranes have blocked all possible ways of reaching them."

    "Well...howcome you're here?"

    "Well it's a long story I'll have to fill you in later."

    "But I can't beat a Slitherane.....I couldn't even beat Jackandi."

    "That's because I've had more years of practice."Jackandi said from the entrance, holding

Jenka by the waist.

    "How can that be possible when we're about the same age?" Jackandi and Jenka just smiled at

him and shook there heads. Then Jackandi said.

    "I'm sure you can beat some of the slitheranes or atleast one....considering that you almost gave

me hell. You're tougher than you give yourself credit for.....plus after you beat him....you can enter

the cave of serpents for me. Gloydius is near the Cave of serpents."

    "Hold on....I haven't agreed to helping her yet....I don't even have a way of getting there."

    "You can use my boat." Benga Chimed in.

    "Of course I can ",he thought. Then he said. "I don't think it's big enough to carry us."

    "Ohh it is, It's meant to carry Oxen, so I'm very sure that you can fit on it and they'll be more

than enough room."

    "Aren't you going to the Taipan tribe...to heal Wolani's mother? The Taipan tribe is closer than

the Viper tribe from here."

    "We can take you there after we visit her mother ...its not a problem."

    "Why did it have to be so convenient?" He thought. "I don't have my Zebra....I can't leave without

her." He said and hardly had he finished that sentence than he was licked in the face by Mpamvu.

Jackandi moved a few steps back.

    "What's wrong darling?" She asked him, then she looked ahead and saw Mpamvu. Then said."Ohh I

forgot about that."

    Mupo then sighed again." I guess the odds just aren't in my favour." He thought."But how did she

find me? ....it must be another Njoka thing." Then looked at Nima and asked." How can I be sure that

you genuinely need my help."

    "For starters, I never ask for help from anyone. This is the first time I have ever asked for help

and you're the Njoka aren't you supposed to help those that need you."

    "s**t " he thought, he sighed one more time. "Okay I'll help you out...but first I need to see my

parents."

    "That's fine by me....as long as you help me."

    "Okay then see you all in about two weeks." He hopped on Mpamvu and dashed back to Jomba

valley.
