1013 Words
Back in the Skalia forest Naxis was seated on his throne with a goblet of venom in his hand. He sipped on his wine as a woman walked into the building. She looked 30 years old was about 183cm tall with short dreadlocks. She was a bit curvy and had light ish brown skin. She was wearing a brown leather vest top with a brown loin cloth and on her feet were brown sandles. She also had an axe and some arrows attached to her back and in her right arms grasp was a bow. She walked towards Naxis and the two women beside him crossed their weapons in front of her." If you don't get those things out of my face....I'm going to break them with my bare hands." She said to them.     "It's okay ladies I requested for her to come." Naxis said, they both then un crossed their weapons and stood still.     "No wonder you don't get visitors around." She said to him.     "That's fine by me...I'm not really an outgoing person."     "You require my assistance?"     "Yes....you are the huntress right?"     "That is correct."     "I need you to bring something for me."     "Would you like the whole carcass or just the head?" Naxis flinched and looked at her with discomfort.     "I actually need a human being to be your pray and I don't want him dead. I just need you to capture him don't scratch him try not to severely hurt him please."     "And who is this human being that is so special?" Naxis removed an orb from beside his throne. He then wiped his hands on it. On the orb was an image of Mupo riding Mpamvu through the forest.     "Mupo Chimo." He said." Well known as the Njoka by now."     "What do you need him for?" She asked.     "Don't you worry about that....just capture him and I'll do you that favour you asked for in that letter."     "About that favour.....I need to be certain that you'll keep your end of the deal."     "I'm a man of my word."     "But how can I be sure."     "Well, if you manage to capture him....you can even keep hold of him...until I do what you asked for. "     "Okay then."     "Do we have a deal?"     "Yes....but I'll capture him on my own terms."     "Do what you have to, just do not kill him and make sure he's able to walk." She nodded her head and walked out of the building.     A few days passed by and Mupo reached home. Standing outside were his parents smiling and waving at him. He stopped Mpamvu and tied her to a nearby tree. He then walked to them and gave them a big bear hug. "How was the ceremony mr Njoka?" His mother playfully asked him. "It was alright, but the journey to Skalia had it's ups and downs." He said. "But how did you know?" "Do you honestly think, you could hide something as important as that from your Mama and Papa." His father said. Mupo just smiled. "Let's go inside I'm sure you must be exhausted." They walked inside afterwards.     They were seated at the table having supper. "What took you so long to get here?" He asked his son. "Don't you miss your Mama and Papa?"     "Believe me I tried, but it seems that Ophidia was in desperate need of a Njoka. It's like majority of Ophidians are currently suffering or have some sort of problem that needs fixing."     "Really?" His mother asked.     "Yes, infact I'm supposed to be helping out someone right now....I just told her that I need to see my parents first." His father's facial expression quickly changed from happy to slightly frustrated.     "You shouldn't have done that." He said to Mupo.     "Done what?" He asked him.     "You shouldn't have come here."     "But why? Your my parents I needed to assure you that-"     "You are the Njoka now, the safety of Ophidia always comes first."     "No you don't understand I-"     "We are not going anywhere, we'll only need you here if you aren't helping anyone. You and only you were chosen for a reason, Mupo, you need to set your priorities straight." Mupo just looked at the floor and didn't say anything.     "We will always be here Mupo." His mother chimed in. "You need to help that girl immediately."     "You don't even know what her problem is." He finally spoke up.     "We don't have to." His father said." We just know that your role as Njoka is to bring peace to Ophidia and you won't be able to fulfill that role by sitting here eating Nkuku and rice with your parents."     "When were you planning on leaving this place?" His mother asked.     "Uhh about two days." He responded.     "I hate to break it to you, but tomorrow morning I want you to start off I head out of this place."     "Yes Mama." He said half heartedly     "You can take Mpamvu, she's yours now." His father said.     "Really?" He asked enthusiastically     "Yes." His father said with a smile on his face.     "So get some rest. I know that you're just from travelling, but you need to get moving as soon as possible. I'll pack some food for you to go with. And I'll clean your armour, it's so filthy." His mother said.     "Thanks for the warm welcome." He sarcastically said to his parents. His father then laughed.     "It's just some tough love. Now go get some rest." He walked to his room outside. When laid on his bed, he felt like he hadn't slept on it in ages but he was only gone for a week. He thought about the Slitheranes he'd never seen one up close from the stories he'd heard it made him less confident than usual. Mupo usually battled with insomnia, especially when he was nervous, but considering the fact that he missed three days of sleep he slept like a kitten that night. The next morning he felt very energetic. He got the food his mother prepared for him and started off. When his parents were out of hearing range he said to his Zebra." This time we'll be prepared for tiny Bandits.     "Of course we will." She replied.     "Oh yeah that's right, I can talk to animals now."
