Three days later, Mupo arrived at the Mamba temple in the afternoon. He tied Mpamvu to a tree
and headed for the entrance. He tried to enter the temple, but it was like he smashed into a wall. The
impact made him fall backwards and tumble down the stairs.
The rest of them were inside the temple, they had grown attached to each other. Even Nima
managed to become friends with them and she was terrible at that. They were having a snack inside
the hall.
"Hey." Wolani said," did you guys hear that?"
"Yes" Benga said,"it sounds like shouting."
"It sounded like it came from outside."
"I don't know what you guys are hearing." Jackandi said.
"I'll go and see what is happening." Wolani suggested. She walked to the entrance and coming up the
stairs was Mupo. She was very happy to see him. But she didn't know why. When he walked towards her,
she started getting nervous, her heart started beating faster and she started trembling a little."
What is going on?" She asked herself.
Mupo walked up the stairs rubbing his head. He then fixed his eyes on the entrance and standing by
it was Wolani. When he looked at her he was wondering what was going on with her,she was tremendous,
she looked nervous and she wouldn't look him in the eye. "Hello." He said with a confused face. "Are
you alright there?"
"I'm fine." She said while looking at the ground.
"You keep starring at the floor, is there something interesting that I can't see-" the barrier
interrupted him and he fell down the stairs again." Damn it." he thought. "I thought all the Black
Mambas were dead. How is this possible." Then a look of realisation came across Mupo's face. "I've got
a lot of questions for you, Scourge."
"Are you okay there?" Wolani asked him.
"I'm okay." He said whilst rubbing his head.
"Wolani is taking long out there is something happening?" Jenka said
"I'll go and check."Benga said. He later got up to see what was happening. "It's the Njoka!!" He
shouted so loud that Nima who was bathing in one room could hear him.
"Njoka?" Jenka asked. "Shouldn't he have been back by next week."
"I guess he missed us." Jackandi said with a smile on his face. Then Jackandi and Jenka both
realised the cause of the sound, then they both bolted to the door. Benga saw this happen and was
confused.
When Mupo reached the entrance,he stopped just in front of the entrance and passed his leg by
through it. When his leg passed through, he walked through the entrance and into the temple. He
found Jenka and Jackandi holding the door knob and his curiosity became even stronger.
Just as Mupo was about to say something, Nima walked into the room wearing a white top and a long
black skirt which showed off her figure. Mupo and Benga couldn't stop starring at her. Wolani then hit
both of them in the head.
"Sorry if the clothes are too tight." Jenka said to her." I guess you're not as small as me huh?" Nima
looked down." But it's better than nothing right?"
"Yes thank you." She then grabbed an apple and walked to where they were standing. "What's
happening?"
"The Njoka has returned." Said Jackandi as if he was announcing an important guest.
"You can just call me Mupo." He said to everyone. Jackandi cleared his throat.
"Mupo has returned." He did it in the same voice.
"Ha ha very funny." Mupo said to him.
"Ohh wise and powerful Njoka.....would you be so kind as to join us peasants for a meal." Jackandi
went on. Mupo just ignored him and walked towards the table. He sat down and grabbed a piece of
chicken." This is a site to behold people the great peacemaker, the animals whisperer, the sword
igniter, the-" Jenka interrupted him by hitting him on the head. Jackandi just rubbed his head and
gave her a nasty look. Then he sat down. "So Mupo....Back so soon?"
"I realised that there might not be enough time to save Gloydius from Sando, so we might as well
get an early start."
"Thank you very much uhh... Mupo."
"No worries...we better start early."
"When?"
"Tomorrow morning would be best."
"Okay I'll pack my stuff."
"Your clothes are still wet." Jenka said. "They will be dry by tomorrow morning." Benga and Wolani
then sat down.
"Hey Jenka." Wolani spoke.
"Yes?"
"Yesterday....when I wanted to enter the temple after plucking some berries."
"Yes?"
"When I tried to enter the temple, it was like I was pushed back by some sort of magic wall." Jenka
immediately froze as she wasn't expecting her to ask that. She had to think of something quick. But
she thought Maybe she could just say she didn't know. Benga then joined in on the conversation.
"Yes that happened to me too, when I was coming from Skalia."
"It also happened to me." Nima added.
"Has it happened to you Scourge?" Mupo asked him. Jackandi just pointed at his mouth, signalling
that it was full of food.
"What's going on? I thought temples only did that if their tribe members were still alive."
"Maybe there's a problem with the temple keepers." Jenka said quickly but very nervously. Then
Mupo started to put two and two together.
"His stature, his speed and agility, his inability to pay attention for a long time. Jenka's stature, her
hairstyle, her body type and her forgetful nature. I figured these guys out. That's why they rushed
to the door every time one of us came to the entrance. That's why the barrier is still strong and
that's why this place doesn't have many visitors" he thought " it all makes sense now." He said aloud.
Jenka got so worried she started shaking, but Jackandi held her still
"Uhh what makes sense?" Wolani asked him
"Yeah what are talking about?" Benga asked.
"Jack and Jenka are Black Mambas."
