CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR ( Those damn huntresses!)

After Two weeks of sailing,they finally managed to reach the Taipan desert before the evening.
They docked the ship and Mupo wanted to go with Mpamvu but she couldn't manage to survive in the
hot climate, so he left a lot of food in the stable on the ship. They then gathered the things they
needed and walked into the desert. They each had on desert clothing and canteens of water to keep
them hydrated. Jackandi had an extra canteen full of venom."It's so hot." Jenka said.
"You'll get used to it." Jackandi said.
"You've been here?" Benga asked him.
"Three times."
"Wow, what were you doing here?"
"Killing chiefs."
"Oh did they owe you money?"
"No." They started to approach one of the main towns called Inland Oasis one. It was where
majority of the Taipans lived. It had the most vegetation and the biggest water body in all of the
Taipan desert.
"Your Mother lives here?" Mupo asked Wolani. Suddenly that feeling came to her again. She started
trembling and wasn't able to look him in the eye.
"What is the matter with me? "She thought.
"Wolani? Wolani?" He persisted.
"Ohh right, she lives just outside the Oasis." She replied.
"Are you okay? You have been acting strange."
"I'm okay." He then wrapped his arm around her and she started blushing.
"Your mother will be just fine. She's in good hands." He said while smiling at her. "You're uhh you're
looking at the ground again." She then looked up but the wind started blowing and when she saw his
dreadlocks blowing backwards revealing his face, she looked down again. Then an arrow instantly flew
right between them, making them separate." What was that?"
The wind also blew up some sand so he wasn't able to see. But when the sand settled down he could
see a tall woman with her arrow knocked into her bow. Mupo was wondering what was going on. She
fired her arrow again. This time it headed straight for Mupo's leg, he didn't have an time to dodge
the attack. Luckily Jackandi caught the arrow before it could land. He then looked down to Jackandi."
What is happening?" Jackandi just shrugged.
As the woman got closer she removed her axe and put her bow back on her back. All the sand
finally settled and her face was visible. When Benga saw her face he waved at her...but she just
ignored. Benga then knelt down.
"My-"
"Shut up!" Everyone was confused as to what was happening, but Benga usually confused them so
they didn't ponder on it for too long.
"Huntress?" Jackandi asked.
"Scourge?" She said.
"How do you two know each other?" Jenka said with jealousy.
"We were once locked up together, in the pit of suffering. She tried to kill me." He said not seeming
bothered at all.
"I already don't like her." Jenka said.
"It was a long time ago and you haven't aged a bit have you?" The huntress said.
"What do you want here?"
"I'm here for the Njoka." She then swung her axe at Mupo, he managed to draw his sword and
block her strike. She then pushed him backwards. She charged at him again and their blades collided.
They stood with their blades crossed trying to overpower each other. She stood taller than Mupo by
2 inches, which kind of intimidated Mupo and not only was she tall but she also had strength to boot.
She then pushed him backwards again.
"Wow " he thought. "She is strong. She must be from the Python tribe." Benga and Nima stood in
front of him with their weapons pointed at her. Jackandi started looking around for a weapon to use.
"It's fine guys...I've got this." They both lowered their weapons and moved out of his way
"Are you sure?" Benga asked him.
"Yes.....Wolani's mother needs your assistance, Jenka, but she'll need extra protection just incase so
you can go with them." Benga and Nima then backed away from the stand off. Wolani threw a rolled
up piece of paper at Mupo." What's this?" He asked.
"A map to where you'll find us." She said. "Good luck."
"Where's Jack ?" Jenka asked. Jackandi then came running with dual curved blades in his hands
ready to back up Mupo, when another curved blade came flying at him. He then saw someone jumping
from the air. But he wasn't able to make out who it was, when the person landed he was able to tell
that it was a woman, but he wasn't sure who she was. She was 163 cm with, with long dreadlocks but
her face was covered, leaving only her eyes exposed. She was slim was wearing Taipan desert clothing
with cotton boots. She had dual curved blades in her hands and once Jackandi saw the red scarf
wrapped around her neck, he knew she was a bounty huntress.
"I guess I'm fighting someone else." He said. "I'll find you at Wolani's home. She's a bounty
huntress. " They then started walking away.
"Scourge." She said with her voice sounding not very intimidating. "One billion scales." She spoke
while holding a painting of his bounty.
"It went up?" He said with a confused face.
"I know chief Muya." She said. "He said he might offer me extra if I kill you."
"Ohh you know the chief....how is he?"
"Good but that isn't the poi-" he then dashed passed her. "Where are you running off to ?" She
asked.
"Just wait I'm coming back." He also passed Mupo and the huntress , causing both of them to be
confused. The bounty huntress chased after him, but he was too fast. He reached where the others
were.
"You beat her already?" Wolani asked.
"Beat who?" Jackandi and Jenka said in unison. Wolani rolled her eyes.
"The bounty huntress !"
"Ohhh." They said in unison again.
"No." Jackandi said.
"Did she give up ?" Nima asked.
"Ohh no."
"Then what are you doing here?"
"Huh? Ohh you made me forget with all your questions."
"Was it something to do with Wolani's mother?"
"No...that's not it." He said stroking his small goatee.
"Was it-"
"Wait....that was it.....give me a map to her home."
"Mupo has one......you can go with him."
"Okay." He then started running back to where he was."Wait why am I running? " he thought, then
he saw the bounty huntress running towards him. "Ohh right. "
