CHAPTER TWENTY THREE (Mistaken identity.)

After Jackandi whacked it in the head, the serpent slithered back a little, it was still crushing Nima
and Benga. However, both of them were still trying to attack whilst beneath it's body.
It didn't move from its position, it was face to face with Jackandi. Jackandi shielded Jenka with a
club in his hand and anger in his eyes. The snake started moving slowly towards him, he also started
preparing to swing the club at it. The snake struck him, but he jumped on to it and kicked it in the
nostril. It hissed in pain and shook it's tail, causing Mupo to slide down it's tail far below his sword.
Jackandi's nostril strike didn't slow it down, but only angered the beast. It left Jenka alone and
fixed it's eyes onto Jackandi. When it got over the pain, it struck again, Jackandi ducked it's attack.
When it noticed that Jackandi had ducked it's attack, it tried to slam him with it's body but Jackandi
quickly rolled out of the way. "You're going to have to be quicker than-" the tried to push him into
the sea, but he clung onto it's head. "Ahh!" He screamed as it was swaying it's head, trying to shake
Jackandi off and ended up freeing Nima and Benga in the process.
While the serpent was busy with Jackandi, Wolani tried to free Jenka. Nima finally managed to
penetrate it's skin with a jab to the body, it hissed in agony and it stopped swaying it's head. This
gave Jackandi an opportunity to get his grip. He lifted his club, but he slipped and fell to the deck."
Are you okay?" Benga asked him.
"No." He said while rubbing his head." That bastard disturbed my magnificent dream." He said
while tightening his grasp on his small club." He's dead meat." He then ran towards the beast. Wolani
managed to free Jenka. Immediately that happened the serpent went in for another strike. Jenka
rolled away from the attack and Wolani jumped over it.
Before the serpent could attack again,Benga and Jackandi came swinging their weapons. Jackandi
hit it in the head from above,Benga hit in the head from below and Nima topped it off with a stab
from in front. The serpent picked up Jackandi in it's mouth and pierced him with his fangs. "Ahh!" He
screamed in pain as the serpent emerald dropped from his pouch and rolled onto the deck. It instantly
dropped him when the emerald touched the deck.
"My eye." Mupo heard it say as he plucked the sword out of it's tail."finally."
"Huh?" Mupo said. He then looked at it's eye and looked at it's eye and looked at the emerald and
realised that they matched. He then dove into the water and started swimming towards the boat. The
snake moved it's head towards the emerald, but but Benga and Nima struck it in the head.
Jenka rushed to Jackandi, "are you okay?" She asked him.
"No, he hasn't paid for what he did to me."
"You're immortal remember?" Wolani said." You won't die from the bite."
"I'm not talking about the bite, that beast disturbed my amazing dream."
"What was in that dream?" Wolani asked him.
"Tell you once I make a meal out of him." He responded and dashed away with his weapon held high.
Jenka then slapped her forehead.
"Wasn't it's poison highly toxic?" Wolani asked Jenka.
"Yes."
"But how is he able to run like-" then, while running, Jackandi fell to the floor and passed out. Jenka
then rolled her eyes, sighed and said.
"Come on I'll need your help."
"Okay." She replied with a smile. They walked to Jackandi and picked him up. They carried him to the
other side of the ship, far away from where all the action was happening. Jenka then put his head on
her lap. "Is he going to be okay?" Wolani asked Jenka.
"He'll be fine....his body will heal within thirty minutes I just need him here so that he doesn't get
hurt again."
"He must be really tough?"
"You should have seen how tough he was without the immortality."
Benga and Nima kept hitting it with all their might, Benga struck it in the head with his club and
Nima jabbed in the neck with her spear. Nima's strikes even started becoming weaker." Is something
wrong?" He asked her. "If you can't handle it, let me take care of it."
"And let you have all the fun?" She said. "I'm just getting started." They both smiled at each other
and went in for the kill. Benga swung his club and Nima readied her spear. Just as they were about
to strike Mupo ignited his sword, knocked their weapons out of their hands and stood in front of the
serpent. The serpent was seriously injured and couldn't fight anymore it looked like if it was hit one
more time it'd die.
"What are you doing?" Nima asked him.
"Yeah we almost had him." Benga added. Mupo put out the flame on his sword and put it back in it's
sheath.
"Thank you." The serpent said to Mupo. Mupo then picked up the emerald and walked towards the
creature. The others just stood there in confusion, wondering what was going on. When he reached it's
massive head, he put the emerald where it's eye was missing. The emerald then lit up and stayed in
the serpent head.
"I am in your debt. If you need my help just call out the name lukanda" it said to him.
"No need my friends already hurt you so we're okay." He said to it. Benga and Nima were still
confused.
"Why is he talking to it?" Nima asked.
"I think they know each other." Benga replied.
"Huh?" The serpent then left the ship alone and went back into the water. "What happened?" She
asked Mupo.
"He just wanted his eye back." He said.
"His eye?"
"Yes, I think Jackandi took it from him."
"But how?"
"We'll ask him later, but first." He turned to Benga. "We need to repair the damage caused to the
ship."
"Already on it." He responded.
"I can help too." Nima said.
"Okay then....let's get started." Mupo said.
A few hours after the battle, they all sat on the deck, in the night time, having a meal." Jack, how
did you get your hands on the serpent's eye." Mupo asked him.
"I didn't know that it was an eye someone gave it to me."
"Who?"
"A man named Naxis."
