"Maybe that's a good idea," I conceded with a shiver.
"Do you want to shift or stay as you are and walk?" he asked, his tone kind and thoughtful.
I considered my options for a moment. It certainly had shaken me when I thought I couldn't shift back earlier, but the thought of having to walk all the way back with him, naked, seemed even more daunting.
"I'll try to shift again," I answered in a small, unconvincing voice.
His back was still turned when he assured me, "I won't shift until you have, just in case you need any help."
It was a sweet gesture, but the only real 'help' he could offer me was support and words of encouragement. I suppose that counted for something. It had helped me to shift back earlier, after all.
