"Lace..." he whispered, his voice filled with pain and regret. "I just need a minute to think about this. To take it all in," I replied, wiping more tears away. "I'm sorry I'm crying... I don't mean to make you feel guilty or anything. It's just... I didn't expect this," I went on, sniffing. He sighed but nodded with understanding before disappearing from the room. Suddenly, Titan stood beside me, watching me with confusion before he rested his enormous head on my lap. I released a teary chuckle and gave him a little hug, appreciating his presence. Alex came back, placing a box of tissues down on the table in front of me. "Can I get you something to drink?" he offered, "Maybe some tea or coffee?" "Maybe some of your wine would be good," I joked, half serious. But Alex shook his head.
