My What?!

981 Words
Keelin POV....... Slowly I was able to feel my body again but now it felt as an elephant was standing on me, weighing me down. Groaning I tried to find my big fluffy pillow, reaching around my bed. Wait this is not my bed, my burning eyes shot open frantically trying to figure out where the hell I am. I ripped the blanket from by sore body to find myself covered in bandages and my uniform in shreds, an overwhelming scent filled my nose and I could here the clanking of dishes from another room. Slowly getting to my feet I winced, it felt like a million needles were shoved into the soles of my bare feet. Making my way to the door I reached for a knife not knowing what or who was on the other side of the door. My wolf was not responding to my attempts to call her forward, but the scent was still driving me mad. A knife, I need a knife I thought as my hand reached the door. "What the fuck......." whispering to myself, whoever brought me here took all my weapons, they are dead. Slowly turning the cold door nob I slipped into the hall to follow the scent of my captor and the soft clanking of glass. I stood around the corner quickly glancing in attempt to lay my eyes on the person before they knew I was up. He is tall and very muscular, his messy brown hair looked as if he ran his hands through it over and over it stopped just above his broad shoulders. I went to steal another peak when the man spoke. "You can come out now Keelin, I wont hurt you" His voice was deep and sounded honest. I slowly stepped into the small kitchen, and was awe struck by the man standing before me. I opened my mouth to speak but he beat me to it. "Sit down on the couch and I will answer your questions, well the ones I have answers to that is." After I sat on the couch he handed me a mug of hot tea, I quickly sniffed it for toxins. He chuckled and wrapped a blanket around my shoulders, he must have noticed my body shaking. I never get cold, this is weird. He stared at me waiting for me to speak, my mind was going a million miles a minute and I was having a hard time forming words. Keelin Blake who is always so sure of herself felt lost and confused in this moment, and I hate it. "Why do we look alike?" My words came out laced in confusion, staring deep into green eyes that reflected mine perfectly. "I think you know the answer to that but I will tell you anyway, you are my sister my twin sister to be exact. Though I am about ten minutes older" He winked but his eyes and words held honesty, as he spoke I could see the fangs in his mouth were just like mine. Brother? But I was abandoned who would ditch one kid and keep the other?! I could feel my wolf stir, slowly waking up from what ever was injected into us. "What is your name?" "Kade" As the name left his mouth I felt a sense of familiarity rush through my body. "How did I get here, the last thing I remember was falling out of a tree and darts sticking out of my chest." My hand automatically went to feel the invisible needle pricks. "I found you when they tried to take you and I bought you here, they poisoned you and I was not sure if you would make it or not." My brother held so much sadness in his eyes, I could see the worry on his face.  "I slept for a night, whats so scary about that?" I looked out the window noticing it was day light. "Keelin you were out for two weeks. Why dont you go shower and get changed, I didn't think you would be okay with me cleaning you more than I did. I will make some food and we can talk more."  "Okay" I carefully walked to the bathroom with Kade watching me like I was going to explode at any second.  I turned the shower on and closed the door, sitting on the counter was a neat little stack of clothes consisting of underwear, a bra, a t-shirt, black leather pants and a coat. How did he know my size and where in the world did he get these so deep into these woods? I thought to myself. Carefully stepping out of my torn up uniform I stared into my reflection. I had been asleep for two weeks but I was not fully healed, my hair looked like a birds nest and my eyes had dark bags under them. My skin looked half dead and basically all of my body was littered in small cuts and yellow bruises. My eyes no longer held their spark and my lip had three small pieces of black thread through it, he must have given me stitches. Once I stepped into the hot water I suddenly became aware of the damage to my back, I reached for the soap and felt a shock wave of pain in my shoulder and ribs. The skin on them was still darker than the rest indicating several broken bones. Pushing through the pain I scrubbed my hair and body, watching soap bubbles and a thick black substance wash down the drain. After I dried myself off and got dressed I followed the smell of food back to my brother who was patiently waiting for me. "Come eat and we will talk more" He gestured to the table with a small smile. - - - - OHHHH snap, she has a brother?!
