Adrian's POV I stormed away from the hall and settled in my living room once more. My beta Ryder came in breathing heavily. “Your Majesty, you were walking so fast. They have successfully stabilized the state of the children. Everything is okay now.” Ryder stated. My mind was finally at ease, but I was still bothered about what happened that led to this. “Would she really do this intentionally?” I asked. “Who? The nanny? It's so hard to tell if she really did it or not. People around here barely know her, from what I heard. She just suddenly appeared and was given a role that was important.” Ryder explained. “Yes I know, I gave her the role. You would not understand why so refrain from ever asking how things happened.” I ordered him. He reluctantly nodded, in agreement. Ryder was such a curious person by nature. He was surely going to bring it up again once the opportunity presents itself. I took a deep breath and stood up. “I must go question her myself. If she is planning to do this because of something serious, I'll have to get rid of her immediately.” I said. “Wait, Your Majesty. Shouldn't you let the guards at the investigative bureaucracy handle this?” Ryder asked. “No, I will.” I replied and walked off, leaving him confused. This was not like me, I would have never meddled with such trivia issues. Even the important ones, I let someone else handle them. But here I was, heading to the quarters to question a pathetic being. I soon reached the dungeon and the guards were surprised to see me. “Your majesty...” He said and paused. “Take me to the integration center now. I want an audience with the new prisoner immediately.” I stated. They obliged and led me in, till we reached the room. “Your Majesty? It is such a surprise to see you here. Is there perhaps something you want to discuss with me?” Fin, the commander of my army, asked. I shook my head slightly, “No, I want you to evacuate everyone immediately. There are things I would like to discuss with her alone.” I said, pointing at Roxanne who was strapped to a chair. “ The prisoner? What might you probably want, your Majesty.” Fin asked. “Get your asses out of here immediately!” I yelled at him. In lightning speed, they all left the interrogation room and shut the door behind them. It was finally Roxanne and I in the room, and I took my seat right in front of her. Our eyes locked in and I remained quiet for a while. “Your eyes, they carry great hatred for me. Why is it so?” I suddenly asked. "You took everything from me. My children and I lived a peaceful life until you came and destroyed it,” Roxanne blurted. I yawned at her dull words, “Oh, you finished talking already? What was it you said, something about me ruining your life?” I asked. She was about to say something when I grabbed her neck suddenly. My hand wrapped around her neck and squeezed it tightly. Roxanne gasped for air as my hand tightened around her neck. “I gave you the chance to leave without my children, but you stubbornly refused my mercy. The only reason you're still alive is because they are still fond of you.” “Once they no longer need you, I won’t hesitate to end your life.” I said, with a menacing stare. I finally let go of her and she coughed violently, whilst trying to breathe. “Now, shall we resume from where we stopped?” I asked and sat back down. You can break my bones and peel away my flesh, but you’ll never touch my soul. I will fight you with everything I have, Adrian. And I will overcome you!” She barked. It was not surprising to see her be so audacious whilst speaking with me. Despite knowing I am the Alpha King, she just does not seem to care about anything. “ Let's just go on with the questions now. Tell me where you came from. Who did you live with until I met you at the inn?” I asked. At first, she was stiff and didn't want to respond to anything I asked. “You don't need to act up and refuse to use your words. I can stay here all day, and you know it.” I said, nonchalantly. She sighed and started, “ I used to be the Luna of the White fang pack.” Roxanne said. I was petrified by her answer and wasn't going to believe it at first. “Did you say Luna? Of the white fang pack? That is absolutely ridiculous, someone like you would not have been more than a maid there.” I said and laughed awkwardly. "Maybe you're right. I was the Luna, but I didn’t bear Phillip any children in time. He mated with a different woman who took control of Everything.” “She turned the people against me and I was treated far worse than a maid. I would have preferred to be one, maybe I wouldn't have ended up in this s**t hole.” Roxanne said, with spite. Just from her seriousness, I could tell this was not a lie, she might have indeed been the Luna of the White fang pack. “You ended here because he rejected you, perhaps?” I asked. “Yes, after facing countless accusations, he finally sent me out of the pack. I began working at the inn where I unfortunately met you.” She said, her eyes blazing with anger. I gulped and moved back to rethink things. The white fang pack and I don't have the best of relationship. We are very close to being enemies even. But now I mated with their former Luna? This is so bizarre. “ You went through all these and still tried to kill my children, Why?” I asked. “What makes you think I would try to kill my own children! If anything, I'm trying to get them as far away from you, as possible!” She yelled.
