The Alpha King's Queen

Amelia’s POV     The days have turned to weeks. Weeks to months. Months to years.   I know that I shouldn’t be attracted to him. I know that it is wrong of me to want him because we both have mates out there somewhere, but there is just something about him that I just can’t shake. My birthday is in a few weeks and I can finally travel and possibly find the one that is made for me and me alone.   “Amelia, baby can you come downstairs please?” my mother called.   “Yes mom. Be right there.” I replied.   My parents are royalty to the supernatural world. There was a war that was fought around the same time I was born and sometimes my mom will lock herself away from the world and shut everyone out. My dad was the one to bring me out of it. He was the one that wanted my mother to forget they’re past.   I love them to the moon and back. I still can’t believe that not to long after my mom had me, she had the triplets and then about seven years after that she had the annoying little twit that I call a sister. She is one of the most selfish people that I have ever met. There is something about her that screams distrust. I can’t stand to be around her for to long. She is one of those people that you can only take in doses before you completely snap.   “Amelia Renee!” my father bellowed up the stairs pulling me out of my thoughts.   I slipped my shoes on and headed down to see what they needed seeing as how I am the first born there for the first to take the thrown when I turn 21.   I get down there just in time for my mother to snap my picture and totally take me by surprise.   “Mom!” I groaned.   “Sorry baby, we have good news and I wanted to be able to savor this moment for all eternity.” she explained.   “Alright.” I said as I took a seat at the table and Mrs. Silvia brought out breakfast for us. I said a quiet thank you. She bowed her head and left the room so me and my family could talk.   “Sweet-heart we all just want you to be happy. We only want the best for you.” Mom started. She was playing with her fingers and started to annoy me.   “Just spit it out already.” I snapped unable to control myself. When I realized what happened I took off to my room ignoring the calls from my family to come back and started into hysterics as I couldn’t believe that I just yelled at my mother. I am the one that is the least aggressive in our family and I am extremely shocked that I just did that.   There was a sudden knock at my door.   “Go away.” I said sniffiling.   “Princess.” My dad said as he poked his head through the door to my room.   “I’m so sorry daddy. I don’t know what is happening or what is wrong with me.” I told him. The tears just kept coming and my dad just held me through it until I was calm enough to have a proper conversation.   “Honey, I really need you to know that no matter what I love you and so does your mother. I think we may have an answer as to what is happening and why.” He said while brushing my hair out of my face and rubbing soothing circles on my back.   “Oka-“ I started before a scream ripped its way through my body.   I could hear my father screaming for our doctors. I hear bones cracking and realized what was happening. I was shifting for the first time. My brother, Anthony, came in with a growl and picked me up.   Immediately The pain eased and it wasn’t as bad as it was when it started. I felt the cool soft grass under my body as I was laid down.   Anthony tried to pull away but before he could completely I grabbed his arm and heard several gasps.  Instantly I was cradled in his lap again.   It was a few hours until I was fully shifted.   My wolf had a beautiful white coat that shinned and almost looked like snow if the light hit it just right.   “Hello. I am your wolf, Christina.” Said Christina through our link.   “Hey. Why were you so late to show up?” I asked.   “I had to wait until we were ready and strong enough to handle the shift. Happy birthday.” She said.   I let out a small whine and looked over at Anthony who was being held down by my father and a few of the vampires. I let out a growl that was loud enough to shake the ground beneath us. I made eye contact with Anthony and my whole world stopped. He was instantly on his feet murmuring sweet nothings in my ear while stroking my fur in attempts to calm me down.   I shifted back and he put the shirt he was wearing earlier on me and then cradled me in my arms.  “You, but how did you?” I asked shocked that he didn’t say anything before-hand. He would have known it was me that was his mate before I would have since he has had his wolf, Tate, for a few years.   “Guess you know now.” Anthony said with a low chuckle. He always had a good outlook on life. One of those glass half full kind of people.   “So does that mean that I have to sleep in my own bed tonight or what?” I asked him sleepily.   “No princess. Now that you know that your mine, you will be sleeping in my bed with me. I can finally have you and I am not letting you go. Ever.” He said as I snuggled deeper into his arms.   It all makes since now. The only thing that isn’t adding up is that if we are family then how are we mates. That is a question I can focus on in the morning when I am less drowsy.   I felt soft silk sheets under me and almost cried when the soothing electric shocks left my body. It wasn’t long lived as he was back before I knew it. Grateful I just turned over and laid my head in Anthony’s chest while wrapping an arm around him. He pulled me into him and we both just let the sound of our heart beats lead us into darkness.
