Chapter 4: Abandonment

444 Words
Anthony’s POV   After closing the door to our room I went downstairs and found my dad holding my mom back as she seethed.   “What the hell is going on here?” I asked.   “This son of a b***h thinks he is taking my daughter away to rule over his people and ripping her away from her family that gave a s**t to raise her!” My mother roared.   “Wait your thinking about doing what exactly?” I asked her father that still hasn’t given his name.   “You heard her right boy.”  He said with a smug look on his face.   “I will not be going anywhere with you. Father or not, I don’t even know you. You and my so called Mother abandoned me when I was a baby and you think you can just waltz in here and take me away. I don’t freaking think so pal.” My mate called as she walked down the stairs.   “I told them it was already decided and a vampire lives by his word. You will be returning with me one way or another.” He called. “By the way instead of name calling dear why don’t you call me Damitri.” He said directed at mom.   “Well Damitri, that isn’t going to happen because, again, I don’t know you other than the man that abandoned me.” Amelia said.   “Okay dear I will give you one month, that’s it. After that month I will be back to retrieve you and you had better be ready.” Damitri said.   After Damitri said what he needed, he raced out of our house as fast as he had entered and all hell broke lose.   Amelia’s POV I never imagined that my father would show up here, hell I didn't even know I was adopted until a few days ago. I don't wanna go with him anywhere until we get to know one another. My heart feels like its gonna beat right out of my chest with how fast it's racing.  I can't believe that he honestly thought that I would just go with him. That I would just forget about how my parents found me and took me in even though they didn't have to. It infuriates me to no end that he had the audacity to make such requests of me. "I'm not going with him." I announced.  It seemed that after i had made my announcement that the tension in the room left and all that was left was relief.  "Thank the Goddess!" My mother breathed out as my father rubbed soothing circles on her back. "Mom, Dad how is he a king if you all took over the ruling of all three species?" I asked the curiosity consuming me.
