***Emily's Point Of View***
I should've made an excuse.
I shouldn't have gone with them.
But it was too late now.
When we arrived at their mansion my jaw dropped. The place was black and red. The walls were made of a black stone and the stained glass windows was a startling red against the walls. The door was painted red too and when they opened the door there was a chandelier greeting us. It looked like a pool of blood was dripping down because just like the windows it was red.
The inside stunned me a bit because it was white with subtle hints of black, red, purple and blue. As if to blend with a secret theme. That's when my eyes caught the photos on display of a little girl.
I turned to Harley my curiosity getting the best of me. "How did you get the photos?" She smiled. "The kidnappers didn't want our daughter finding out the truth so they played the perfect family. Placing a few photos here and there on social media but they were always one step ahead. So we kept the photos and kept hunting them down."
The pictures had stopped right on the girl's tenth birthday. The only reason I knew it was her tenth birthday is because the picture looked really familiar. Then it hit me all the pictures looked familiar... Because it was me. I gasped feeling like a ton of bricks where crushing me slowly. Harley held my shoulders.
"Welcome home at last my darling girl." I stood frozen not saying anything until the bricks had finally crushed me. I looked at Harleen and Jack. No, I looked at my parents and then I bolted.
I ran out of the house halfway down the street before I pulled off my shoes and ran further. My breath came in uneven puffs and I crumpled onto the side walk. My emotions running wild. I wanted to laugh and I wanted to cry because everything had been a lie. I stared up at the cloudless night and screamed. Someone came running out of their house and I bolted again.
A car pulled up next to me and I knew it was them. "Emily, we aren't the bad guys, well we haven't been for a long time. Please just come with us so that we can explain everything." I saw the tears in Harley's eyes and I felt a twinge of pain. I was about to say something when Jack spoke up. "Honey, why don't we give her sometime to think." He turned to me then. "You know where we live so once you are ready to talk and come to terms with everything you can come over and we'll explain everything." I nodded but he looked at me expectantly. "Well, then you'd better get in the car so that you're not late for curfew," he said smiling and I got in allowing my p...parents to take me to my other home. As we drove I settled into my seat and kept quiet and so did they...
I had a feeling my life was about to change and whether it was for the good or the bad it was going to happen one way or another...
