PROLOGUE
UNKOWN’S POV
“A witch and wolf shall become one blood by the moon, and then will the new age arise, and all will be doomed.” My hands trembled as I re-read the ‘prophecy’.
Was it really true? Will there be a time when the witches leave the shadows? What about the new species? What was that all about? Was a new race going to come from nowhere?
This was a lot more than I could handle. I needed to speak with the alpha about this. I looked up from the written words and at the witch who had given them to me. “Is this true? What does this mean?” Could I even trust the words of a witch?
“It is all that was revealed to me. The gift of sight is not something to be controlled. The messages may not always be clear, but the words are. I have given you the words that were spoken to me. It is up to you to listen or believe me.” She said this without even blinking.
I didn’t want to admit it, but deep down, something told me she was right. I doubt she would leave the safety of her coven and come all the way here to trick me. Even she would not be that foolish; nobody would.
In some ways, I knew something was going to happen soon; hearing that the witches were to rise soon wasn’t the most shocking part of this information. I knew we would not be able to keep them locked up for much longer, but what did she mean when she said they will be made one by the moon?!
While I was lost in thought, she turned around to leave, but just before she could leave, I said, “And the part about the new age? What is that supposed to mean?”
She turned around halfway, only letting me see her side profile, “There are more than two species in the supernatural realm. For years, we have been the only ones losing in the fight for dominance. I guess others have decided to lend us a hand. Perhaps that goddess you serve will finally do some good.”
Before I could get another word out or even blink, for that matter, she was gone. I might have dismissed this terrible night as a dream if she hadn’t left the written note with me.
