PARIAHS:DAWN OF A DEMON

Act I Scene I: Death The scene opens up in a Lamborghini Urus, the Akuma family had just taken the first son Jahseh who had been in another country for four full years from the airport but little did they know their lives were about to drastically change. *                                     *                                    * Amar : I wonder though, are we like the only half demons in the world. Jahseh: Most likely bro, now that I think about it though, I am not so sure, after all, there was a time when demons and humans co-existed, unfortunately, the great war happened and well, everything went south from there, although, it is possible for there to be other half demons too. Amar: But why does it feel like no one remembers the demons, it feels like we are the only ones who know. Jahseh: Of course, we only know cause dad married a demon and he never forgot about her, remember the story dad told us about the great magician merlin and how he made the entire world forget about the demons after they were sealed. Dad has told us this particular story a whole lot of times. Amar: I honestly wish I was fully human though, being a half demon sucks like hell, we can only eat things from animals and can only drink animal blood, I can not even gulp down a milkshake or have a cake. Jahseh: Oh yes, I know but being a demon is also really really cool in some ways, we have heightened senses, we have super strength and speed, we have an impossible immune system, damn, there’s so much to say man. Lord Anthony: Could you guys keep it down a little, Amar, I know you have not seen your brother in a few years but could you guys like keep it down, my head aches and your noise just ain’t helping. Amar: Okay dad, hey uhm, big brother, tell me about school, how was it, did you like it. Jahseh: Oh yeah, school was cool, everyone found it weird I always got perfect scores on all tests and examinations but what shocked everyone more was how good I was at sports, even though I was basically holding back because honestly, I would raise eyebrows if I ran at the speed of sound or if I scored goals from my teams goalpost. Amar: Damn, big brother, you are so cool, tell me more, about your friends. Jahseh: Okay uhm, I really didn’t have friends cause like uhm, I didn’t want any trouble but there was this one girl, we hang out a lot and I guess ……. she’s……. uh, she’s alright. Amar: Daaaaaaddddddddd, Jahseh’s got a girlfriend. Jahseh: No, I don’t………………. Lord Anthony: Will both of you shut the f**k up, I told you my head aches and I am seriously trying to focus on driving, look, both of you are grounded, you shall spend the rest of this week in your bedrooms, making no noise and pretending you don’t exist. Is that understood? Jahseh & Amar: Yes sir. (Almost immediately, the hellish moment occurred, a bullet went straight through the head of Lord Anthony of Ifedayo, killing him instantly, Jahseh and Amar could only watch in horror as their fathers head oozed out blood and their car swerved into a lagoon, although they could not be drowned because they were half demons, Jahseh brought out his brother and swam with him to shore as he screamed for their father). Amar: We have to go back for him.Jahseh: We can’t he’s dead, there’s nothing we can do about it. Amar: Nooooooo, he can’t……….. he can’t die……… dad won’t die……………. he can’t ……………… but…………. Jahseh: I am sorry bro, but he’s gone now man, there’s really nothing we can do about it. Amar: Noooooooooooo(cries in pain as his brother fights back tears to stay strong for his brother). *                                *                                      * The scene comes to a close as the police swoop in and the boys are transported to their home, where their aunt awaited them. Amar: What’s gonna happen to dad Aunt Liyah? He will be fine right? Is he going to be fine? Duchess Liyah: I am really sorry Amar, but your dad has gone to be with God, he can finally rest now. Amar: No, you liar……. He can’t be……. Dad can’t ……. He can’t leave me …….. you’re lying……. (Starts to cry as his eyes start to go into demon mode). Jahseh: (Goes into demon mode and speaks with his demon tone) That’s enough Amar, behave yourself, go to your room now. Amar: (Goes out of his demon mode) Okay big brother, good night. Duchess Liyah: Kid’s uhn? Well, I can’t blame him, he did lose his father you know, that’s hard to accept, especially at such a young age. Jahseh: Hehe, yeah, okay, so, why are you here? Duchess Liyah: Well, since you are now eighteen years of age, we can’t legally force you to come under us, you get to choose what you want, for you and your brother. Also, since your father has now sadly passed away, the new King of Ifedayo must now be elected and as the first son, you are in the position to do that. Jahseh: Thank you very much for your concern, but I shall not require your help on either, I can do both by myself thank you very much. Duchess Liyah: Oh is that so? Putting on your big boy pants I see……. Jahseh: That’s not it, I simply do not trust you because you cannot be trusted, you are sincerely not trustworthy, especially after what you and your husband did when I was ten, that was a very stupid move and I am sincerely happy you lived to regret it, fortunately, I can’t say the same for him and………... Duchess Liyah: If I were you boy, I would watch my tone and words cause sometimes, they could end up being your cause of death. Jahseh: Is that a threat? Duchess Liyah: Oh no it’s not a threat, I make promises not threats, happy coronation boy, let’s see how long you’ll live to rule then (opens a bottle of wine and pours herself a glass). Jahseh: Hey Malcom! Malcom!! Malcom: Yes young Lord? Jahseh: (Points at Duchess Liyah and looks disgustfully), It appears that our guest here has overstayed her welcome, let’s be good hosts and show her the way out of here shall we? Malcom: Yes, young Lord, your word is law. Ma’am, if you will? Duchess Liyah: No I will not. (Looks at Jahseh), how dare you? You bastard! You’ll regret this deeply. Jahseh: Malcom! Malcom: Yes sir (grabs Duchess Liyah). Duchess Liyah: (Drags her arm from his hand), don’t touch me you filthy animal. I know my way out, don’t follow me. (Looks back and sees Jahseh and Malcom laughing). Jahseh: Make me a meal Malcom, we’ll be busy tomorrow, be ready. Oh and also, call all the chiefs, they must be here tomorrow’s morning. We would be having the coronation when it’s overmorrow. Malcom: Yes sir, would that be all? Jahseh: Yes. The scene comes to an end as Malcom the butler heads into the kitchen............... *                                *                               *
