Chapter 4

A new feeling.

Angelica had no idea what she was feeling for this new person in her life

She only knew she loved his company. She enjoyed having someone other than her father and the forest animals to listen to her songs.

She kept wondering why there was someone else after her father had said there was absolutely no other person. Could her father who she trusted so much be lying to her? What was behind the Bells forest that her father won't let her see?

Damon came to see her again this time she made up her mind to ask him where he was really from.

"Hey, I've been thinking, my father said there are no other people here, just me and him. Where then did you come from?"

"What do you mean there are no other people here?" Damon looked shocked.

"Well my father said we were the only ones existing and he said never to go beyond the boundaries of the Bells forest. Although he never explained why"

Damon was convinced her father never wanted his daughter to know or meet people. In that moment he realised he may pose as a threat to Angelica since her father was so protective of her.

He made up his mind to at least show her the truth.

"Come with me" Stretching his hands towards her.

" I'm sorry, I can't, my father would be back anytime soon" Angelica said as she walked towards the cottage.

Damon moved quickly and stopped in front of her." If we're gonna be friends, you're going to have to learn to trust me" at that moment, he swiped her off her feet into his arms and took a long jump to the very top of the massive Oak tree they were standing under.

Gently making her stand on one of the upper branches he pointed round the forest "Sorry about that, I had to do it. Now look around.... What do you see?

" Trees, leaves, the sky .....more trees. I guess papa was right. There are really no other people" Angelica suddenly felt lonely and sad. Damon smirked and lifted her up to his arms again "close your eyes". In that moment he appeared at the top of a coconut tree which was just at the boundary of the forest. He gently set her down again

" Now open your eyes" his eyes full of excitement and self-satisfaction.

Angelica couldn't believe her eyes, before her was the bubbling city of Las Vegas, there were different coloured lights here and there and Magnificent houses. She could hear music and There were no trees either.

" This is what lies beyond your forest home Angie,in fact there's more. Would you like me to show you? Angelica could only nod in affirmation.

Next he took her to the night streets of Las Vegas.

Angelica was astonished at how many more people there were.

Women, men, children... So many people. She looked at how the young ladies were dressed and felt ashamed of her hand made cotton gown. There were several cars here and there. People kept staring at Angelica. Not because she was oddly dressed but because she was extraordinarily beautiful. Damon could smell the desires of the men that looked at her lustfully. He clutched her tightly.

" I think it's time to go back now" Damon said already fed up of all the thoughts people were having towards his Angelica.

Ladies also tried to get his attention but he showed them no attention. He even spotted someone who looked very much like Lydia's messenger but he was too busy concentrating on Angelica to confront her.

So he took her by the hand and went to a small corner of the street. The place was lonely as there were no people there. Damon looked at her.

"Your father was slowly trying to protect you, humans are terrible. There are good ones just like your papa but most humans are wicked and cruel. Don't be mad at him"

"He lied to me all this time. He kept me in that cottage like a prisoner" Angelica felt betrayed. Damon patted her on the shoulder and kissed her forehead. "Quit feeling bad Angie if it's the world you wanna see, I'd take you everywhere, you'd make new friends, get new clothes, and ride cars" he assured her and took her back to the cottage.

It was only then Angelica realized that no time had passed. The candle she lit was still at the same position. The tap she left on to fill all their water pots were not even full.

Angelica begun to wonder who Damon was...or at least what he was.

She could jump really high,had super strength and could get anywhere within seconds.

She also remembered how his eyes changed from blue to sea green whenever he was excited.

She concluded that Damon wasn't telling her everything about himself

Back at his home, Damon went to his verandah. He stared at the earth beneath them. He couldn't remember when he last went for desire sniffing. He couldn't remember causing mischief. All he could think of was Angelica

What was she turning him into? Why was he feeling so attracted to her? What was different about her that he didn't see in other women?Why did she remind him so much of his first mother? He asked himself as he thought deeply.

Just then he remembered spotting Aurora, Lydia's personal spy and messenger.

Damon became furious.

He appeared at Lydia's room with raging red eyes and grabbed her by the neck.

"Are you spying on me again you b***h?" he asked furiously

"I...I... I ...you're hurting me Damon" Lydia struggled for breathe. He tightened his grip around her neck "f*****g answer me!! I saw your personal servant at the Las Vegas Boulevard, the f**k was she doing there huhn!!"

Lydia knew Damon could easily kill her with the amount of rage in his eyes. "I sent her to get a few things for me" she squealed." Lying bastard!!! We both know everything on earth is twice her. There is nothing on earth you can't get here with the snap of your fingers!" he said throwing her across the room.

Just then Thane Damon's half-brother walked in.

" What are you doing Damon!!, Leave her alone!!" Thane said standing in front of Damon to stop him from harming Lydia. Lydia smiled cunningly behind Thane and began to fake sobs.

"I only sent Aurora to get me the magic elixirs I saw a psychic selling at The strip. I have no idea why that has become a crime" she said sobbing even more.

Damon looked at her with gruel

"Let this be a warning to you. Stay outta my s**t. It won't take me a minute to kill you, I don't mind the consequences" he said coldly and left the room.

Thane went to comfort his mother. "He can't hurt you okay?.. I'm here. Just avoid being seen in places where he may be present" he said as he helped her stand up.
