Returning to school felt strangely refreshing. After such a warm and memorable weekend with Alex’s family, I felt lighter- more relaxed, even. I couldn’t wait to catch up with Lilith and tell her everything.
Most of the classes I had were the ones I took alone without Lilith so I couldn’t wait to catch her at lunch and ask her how she’s been.
Finally, it was time for lunch. I grabbed my things and headed to the café where we always had our lunch together. I walked to the counter, ordered my food and I turned to check if she had come in yet.
