CHAPTER 19 - Knotting

*Nova’s P.O.V.*

    Ariadne, Khonsu, and I left Dr. Reid’s office. Khonsu and Ariadne were gushing over the ultrasound pictures, and I couldn’t blame them. Twenty years of trying to have a baby? I’d have given up long time ago if I’m being honest.

    I rubbed my belly subconsciously as we walked back to the courtyard area. The bodies had been removed and only one wooden structure remained standing. The pack had dispersed back to their respective homes.

    Uncle Andrew approached us then. “What’s that?” he asked Ariadne, and she held it out for him to look at. A grin spread across his face. “Congratulations!” he exclaimed, pulling them in for a hug.

    I snuck off to give them their moment and found myself in the apartment. I must have followed Kane’s scent, because he was coming out of the twin’s room after laying them down for their nap. I slammed the mental block down as Venus took over.

*Venus’s P.O.V.*

    I looked him up and down and bit my lip seductively. His eyes darkened with lust instantly, and the next thing I knew we were in our room, and I was on my back on the bed. He kissed me hungrily yet passionately, and I kissed him back with just as much fervor.

    “f**k me. Please, f**k me,” I begged him, and he pulled away, staring at me hesitantly.

    I decided he was taking too long, so I stripped myself and then him in a flash. His erection sprang free, and I grabbed it in my hand, stroking it up and down as I licked the tip.

    He inhaled sharply and hissed as his hand fisted in my hair. I opened my mouth and took him is as far as I could. Once he hit the back of my throat, I used my hand to continue stroking him while sucking on his d**k.

    “Venus,” Blaze said in a deeper version of Kane’s voice.

    “Blaze,” I said with his d**k still in my mouth.

    “But our pups…” he started, but I pulled him down so he was hovering over me as I laid back. I guided his d**k to my entrance and rubbed it up and down. His eyes closed as he hissed again.

    “Blaze, it has been months since we made love or f****d like this. I want to try one of the positions Dr. Reid suggested. Nova has already consented. But first I want you just like this until I’m screaming your name in ecstasy,” I begged unabashedly.

    “What?” I asked.

    I started to faceplant onto the bed as he tried to slide out of me, but my scream of pain stopped him.

    “Blaze? What’s going on?”

    “I don’t know what this means. We will have to ask one of the doctors,” he admitted.

    I did as he said, and he kept pace with my movements until he was laying on top of me with his weight on me. I glanced at the clock; it was almost time for the twins to get up from their naps, so I did the only thing I could think to do at the exact moment Nova lifted the block.

    Kylie? Can you come get the twins? They’re napping in our apartment right now.

    Venus? What’s going on? Is someone hurt?

    Not exactly… um… Blaze kind of knotted inside me and the twins are starting to wake up. We can’t exactly move right now.

    I’ll be right there.

    I sighed as Nova started to freak out. Venus, you had to tell Kane’s mom?!

    What else was I supposed to do?!

    She sighed in the back of my head as she conceded.

*Nova’s P.O.V.*

    Venus receded to the back of my mind, and I turned my head to find that Kane was back in control as well.

    “What does this mean?” I asked him.

    “I don’t know either,” he admitted.

    I heard the lock click on the apartment door and Kylie’s footsteps to the twins’ room as her scent wafted under the door. I heard the twins squeal with delight when they saw her, and Kane and I smiled at each other. We heard the apartment door click shut and lock as the twins’ voices disappeared.

    I could feel the knot loosening inside me, but it was not fully gone. Kane rolled so we were spooning and wrapped his arms around me. We just laid there and waited, breathing in each other’s scent as we caught our breaths and waited for the knot to go down.

    When it finally went down, Kane slid out of me as I glanced at the clock.

    “Kane, you realize when they are in their wolf forms, their knot lasts fifteen minutes. That one last twice that.”

    He c****d his head to the side. He understood what I meant, but was trying figure out why that was, but I suddenly didn’t care.     “Nova,” I heard a voice call, so I opened my eyes to find myself in a strange forest. In the distance, I could hear the sounds of a small waterfall, so I began walking in that direction.

    “Nova,” the voice came from behind me, so I spun around, ready to defend myself if needed. The figure standing before me had straight, long black hair and blue eyes, and a light was surrounding her.

    “Selene?” I gasped and she nodded in response. “What… where am I?”

    “You are in my world,” she said.

    “Am I…” I couldn’t bring myself to finish the question.

    She laughed slightly, and it sounded like bells. “No, you aren’t dead, my child. I brought you here because I need to tell you something important.”

    I just stared at her in confusion.

    “You remember the story about the Menae?”

    I nodded, unable to find words.

    “The Menae are mine and Endymion’s fifty daughters. And you’ve heard of the Horae?”

    I nodded again. “The daughters of you and Helios, each representing a season.”

    “That’s right. And my children with Zeus?”

    “Pandia, or Pandeia, meaning ‘all-brightness’ and the goddess of the full moon, and Ersa, or Herse, meaning ‘dew.’ Did you call me here for a history lesson?” I asked.

    “No, I did not. I called you here because your daughter, due in the winter, is also the reincarnation of one of my daughters, Nova.”

    “What?!” I exclaimed. “What do you mean?” I asked.

    “Well, shortly before I blessed you with these twins, one of my daughters died and needed to be reincarnated again.”

    “Which daughter?” I questioned, though I honestly didn’t expect an answer.

    Selene looked at me for a moment, as if deciding something, before saying, “Honestly, you will know when she is born. But it is Pandia, the goddess of the full moon. And she shall be born on such a night.

    “But I called you here because there are things you need to know that are not in any ancient texts. Her powers are exceedingly strong. She will be able to control and cure diseases and have the power to heal, such as yourself.

    “While born a werewolf, she possesses the ability to change into any animal she chooses at will. She will be a natural dancer, just as Artemis was, and she will value her chastity as well. Like me, she will have the power to give sleep and light the night.

    “Most importantly noted, though, is her hydro-and-chrono kinetic abilities and her ability to cure and technically cause lunacy, though the reincarnation will not be able to induce lunacy due to an agreement between the other gods and goddesses and myself.

    “She will be able to control the element of water and the element of time, from time-traveling to slowing time or her enemies and increasing her movement speed.”

    My jaw dropped.

    “Her ability to control water includes that of snow. She can turn blizzards into simple flurries and simple flurries into blizzards. It is yours and Kane’s job to teach her how to control these abilities and to only use them as needed, when needed, and only for light reasons so she does not turn to the dark side. Do not fail me, my child. She will be a force to be reckoned with.”

    “Will she have abilities of other supernatural creatures, such as shimmering or teleporting?”

    “No, she will not, but I cannot say the same about the son you are carrying.”

    “Can I ask one more question?”

    “About the knotting?” Selene asked, and I nodded. “You know the purpose of the knot in canid species. In werewolves, it has the same purpose, although it is extremely rare for it to occur in human form.

    “When it does, it creates and seals a bond that cannot be broken by time or distance. Simply put, its purpose is to further connect you as mates. It will allow you to feel what the other is feeling at a deeper level and the bond it creates can never be broken, even with the use of dark magic.”

    I nodded. “Anything else I should know?” I asked.

    “The only thing you need to know now is that the information about my daughter cannot be shared with anyone, including Kane, until after she is born.”

    I closed my eyes and inhaled, not liking the idea of having to keep important information about our daughter from Kane. When I opened my eyes, Selene was gone, and I heard Kane’s voice calling my name.

    “Nova! Nova! Wake up, angel.”

    I groaned and opened my eyes to find Kane kneeling beside me with worry in his eyes.

    “How long was I asleep?” I asked.

    “Angel, I’ve been trying to wake you for an hour.”

    “I’m sorry, I… Selene came to me in my sleep.”

    “She did? What for?”

    “She explained the knotting. It creates a bond that cannot be broken by time or distance. It will allow one to feel what the other is feeling on a deeper level. And the bond it creates cannot be broken by anything, including dark magic.”

    Kane sighed in relief. “You really worried me, angel. I couldn’t wake you up, but I knew you were okay. I felt your confusion, shock, and relief.”

    “She made a long speech about it,” I tried to play it off, and it seemed to work. He nodded and helped me to my feet.

    We got dressed and went down to the first floor just in time for dinner.
