I tried to keep as calm as I could while preparing my dinner. When I saw Paul on the couch earlier, my heart started beating really fast, and I had to go upstairs to buy myself some time.
As I changed out of the clothes I was wearing, I thought about what Paul said earlier. What happened between him and Natasha? Who broke up with who? Also, why is he here?
I passed by Jerichos’ room and kissed him goodnight. He was already asleep. I walked slowly downstairs. I hadn’t had dinner yet, so I decided to invite Paul to the kitchen with me.
I started preparing dinner while Paul sat at the kitchen counter.
Jessica: “So, what happened between you and Natasha? Why did you break up?”
Paul: “We didn’t break up. We were never really engaged.”
