THE talk with Mr. Meyer went better than I expected. I was worried that he would be angry and not want to work with me anymore.
When I told him that Natasha and I were not really engaged and that we were just best friends, he didn’t seem surprised. She seemed to know her daughter well enough that her pretending to be engaged to me was something that he expected her to do.
When I said that I took part in the lie too, Mr. Meyer said that he was sure that it was Natasha’s idea and that she convinced me to go along with the lie. He also said that my work ethic has impressed him and that he is sure that the Singapore hotel project will thrive. He also said that I don’t have to worry about him pulling out his investment and that he looks forward to the hotel opening.
