EVERYONE was quiet for a while. Once Jeffrey let me go, he took out a handkerchief, and I wiped the tears off my face. I smiled at my brother and said, “Thank you.”
Jeffrey: “I’m sorry about what happened to you.”
Jessica: “It’s okay. I’m sorry for not being a good sister to you.”
Jeffrey: “It’s fine. We were kids.”
My parents hugged me too. They didn’t have to apologize. I’ve forgiven and forgotten what happened to them in the past. I could also feel that they were trying to make it up to me.
I looked at Jerome and said, “I’m sorry, Jerome. I should have been a better sister. I know I was a bully, and not just to you but also to my friends. I regret being like that. I hope you can forgive me someday.”
Jerome walked towards me, and I was surprised when he hugged me
