I smiled when I saw Paul and said, “Hi. You’re back.”
Paul looked uncomfortable and said, “Uhm, yeah, I am.”
I was so excited that I took Paul’s hand and I wanted to introduce him to my brothers.
Jessica: “There are some people I’d like you to meet.”
I was surprised when Paul pulled his hand back and said, “Can we do it some other time? I’m here with someone.”
Jessica: “Oh, sure. Sorry, I was just excited to see you.”
Paul didn’t say anything and just smiled awkwardly.
Jessica: “Oh, sorry. Some other time then.”
There was a few seconds of awkward silence when I said, “Uhm, you never contacted me while you were gone. I didn’t have your number, so I couldn’t really contact you. I missed you.”
